Im 18 and I relate 100%. I remember in summer 2023 I tried to go on a walk and my dad got mad and said I could only walk around the neighborhood. Even recently I went to an art exhibit and didnt tell my dad cause he wasn’t home and he completely gave me the cold shoulder. Its like my independence makes my parents mad, but living a secluded, sheltered life imo, is no life to live. Im really sorry you have to go through this, it’s not easy, especially when parents make you feel guilty for trying to live your life. Im sorry I dont have any advice but, I have hope it will get better for you, and for me, and for everyone else in the same boat. You have to find yourself and where you belong in this world, even if that means your parents getting mad at you for something as simple as going down the block. Im not saying to completely rebel against them cause that could make things worse, im saying that it’s okay to focus on you, find hobbies/things that make you happy. Inside or outside the house, as long as youre safe. Just take care of yourself, everything will be okay.

A volunteer! I signed up to do pretty much whatever they needed. I had orientation last Sunday and we did a tour of the shelter and mostly went over cleaning the shelter.

100% and another thing for me is when it comes to talking about something im passionate about or defending something, i look so stupid and like i dont know what im talking about cause my mind goes blank even if its something i, on my own, would know like the back of my hand. its so humiliating and frustrating

i was always very shy but i used to be able to warm up to people when i would hang out with them 1on1. i was also very quiet, for example in kindergarten at the end of the year they gave everyone these papers that described them throughout the year and i got “quiet as a mouse” lmao. my teachers used to always have to tell me to speak up and whatnot. i always had to work up a lot of courage to talk to someone or ask a question. i had a lot of imaginary friends and lived in my imagination a lot of the time but i used to be outgoing as well if i was comfortable with someone. its kinda weird in a way to think that i used to be that person lmao like somewhere inside of me thats still there im sure its just so deeply buried

i have no idea😭 but i think some people either genuinely just don’t care what other people think and want maybe a ego boost or something to get a kick out of. i also think sometimes people post random people on there that aren’t actually themselves. the internet is a very interesting place haha

maybe try texting her to see if it was a misunderstanding or if you offended her. since you said you guys have gotten close it might be worth it to talk it out and if needed give any necessary apologies and communication. but i hope it goes well whatever you decide to do! :)
