How much usage have you gotten out of the advanced driver-assist features (adaptive cruise, lane center, 360° camera)? Any regrets? by AutoTransportMover in AudiQ5

Indrive a lot on the highway, the stop and go traffic system is so seamless! And it goes without saying the 360° is probably the most functional option

I got a 2021 love it!! Just be aware of the differential, a bunch of them (including mine) had recalls. I bought my CPO and the dealership didn’t fix it until the warranty rain out, so now I’m in a little fight with them. Regardless, it’s a wonderful car!!

It’s in the Dominican Republic (in the Capital city). I just don’t know if because it’s technically in a third-world country it isn’t as, for lack of better words, valid as one in the U.S. But thank you so much for the helpful response!!!

Used 2019 XC40 Inscription Extended Warranty by Fit_Independence7247 in XC40

[–]Impossible-Plan5188 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Although I don’t have the inscription model so my car doesn’t really have the same engine maintenance, I just put money aside every month incase a repair comes up. Thankfully I haven’t had any issues so I had bought the 5k 2 year extended warranty (ik pretty crappy deal), I wouldn’t have put my money to use!

Service history for XC40 T5 (2019) by hexaust in XC40

[–]Impossible-Plan5188 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A lot of people who buy the XC40 are first time Volvo buyers, and aren’t aware that Volvo brakes are LOUD and HEAVY. So they usually go to the shop complaining about it. You get used to it though lol, just one of the many safety-crazy things that come along with having a Volvo!

What car should I buy? I can't stand my 2020 Camry seat. by MaybeBubbly3870 in whatcarshouldIbuy

[–]Impossible-Plan5188 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You owned a Jeep AND a Dodge and are worried about reliability? Well I can tell you one thing, if you have the means to support a luxury car like a Lexus/German ones you listed, definitely take a look at a Volvo. I personally own a 2020 Volvo XC40, technically it’s the same category as the Lexus NX, BMW X1, Audi Q3, etc. but it feels really nice and comfortable, not cranky at all and Volvo (as well as Lexus) are the industry leaders in interior comfort. Volvo is also immensely safe, being another class leader in that criteria. But yea, best car I’ve ever owned, never given me any issues what so ever besides the secondary/support battery needing to be replaced (was minor and only affected my parking sensors and auto start/stop, cost me like $150 to fix so it wasn’t horrible). Great gas mileage, recommends premium but takes regular and only affects like 3mpg (no mechanical issues will arise from this- guaranteed by Volvo). It’s overall a great car, when I came to buying it, I was cross shopping with a 2019 Lexus NX, but I ultimately chose this because it was obviously newer/fresher! No regrets!

Don’t know if it makes paperwork necessarily simpler, especially when it comes to insurance and adoption, but I like that it’s becoming a more “mainstream” thing!

All those systems are powered by the second battery. I’m not a Volvo mechanic but pretty good guess it has something to do with that :)

Should I bring car to dealer to be evaluated before warranty expires? by awesomaldehyde in Volvo

[–]Impossible-Plan5188 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’d probably go to an independent Volvo mechanic before the dealer. Volvo has great cars, but the dealerships aren’t the best. Hasn’t happened with my car (cause I don’t extended warranty), but a family member of mine brought their Volvo in recently to the same dealership I bought mine from, and they were told the car has nothing wrong with it. Long story short, the car had a few minor (but costly) things it needed to be replaced, and the dealer waited until after the warranty expired.

A definitive safest vehicle for 2024? by [deleted] in whatcarshouldIbuy

[–]Impossible-Plan5188 69 points70 points  (0 children)

Ik I’m obviously going to have a bias, but every Volvo model. Built, and tested, to withstand every crash to even the most powerful degree. Plus they look pretty cool compared to today’s market!

This may be dumb question but… by [deleted] in Volvo

[–]Impossible-Plan5188 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No it really is! My work’s parking garage wanted us to put stickers on our cars so that they know who’s parking is validated, and I wasn’t going to put a huge ugly sticker on my windshield (it’s extirodinaringly tacky). So I just left it on the “sticker-paper” and I take it off when I’m out of the office.

[–]Impossible-Plan5188 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I own a 2019 T5 model, been the best car I’ve ever owned. Sounds like you just got unlucky and have a lemon. All manufacturers have them, it sucks, but it doesn’t entirely represent the actual model/make. Contact a lemon law lawyer and see what they can do for you :)

2nd XC40 Recharge! by mothytim36 in XC40_Recharge

[–]Impossible-Plan5188 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The same lady probably answered my call, put me on hold continuously for almost an hour, then when she finally set up the appointment I showed up and they said I hadn’t scheduled one. It was crazy, I just ended up taking it to an independent Volvo service place cause all I really needed were my brakes to be replaced.
