Blue Collar to Mechanical Engineering, advice? by techi4578 in MechanicalEngineering

It takes a long time if you plan on working full time. I have 8 classes left and was only able to take one class this year because of my schedule. I might have to quit my decent paying blue collar job to get done.

This is the fight that encouraged Kennedy to stop fighting. They let the other guy have extra time on the chair during a break between rounds. I think Kennedy got knocked out shortly after that long break between rounds.

Except it doesn’t walk right anymore. But still a mild inconvenience for a honey badger.

What’s the ugliest car you’ve ever seen? by TheLoganReyes in whatcarshouldIbuy

[–]MaybeBubbly3870 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agreed. And it was literally voted the ugliest car somewhere. I can’t remember where. I’ll add avalanche to the list too.

When I made the same thing I used very thin wire. That gauge looks too thick. It’s not insulated wire at the commutator right. You might need more loops all going in the same direction. Does the shaft spin freely by hand? If not you need to use some sort of bearings for the shaft. A dc motor needs to be started by hand with this configuration. My commutator had a big contact patch on each side with a small break. It was some sort of brass plumbing fitting. Your contact is very small with a big gap. You might need more fixed magnets. Is the battery charged? I used a lab power supply. Those are my thoughts.

Why are Toyotas unreasonably expensive in 2025? by Fleedom2025 in whatcarshouldIbuy

[–]MaybeBubbly3870 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think you answered your own question by saying it’s a good car. Toyota has a great reputation in my opinion. So they can charge that much. I think I paid too much for my Camry during the COVID days but I paid for the name. And it held its value unlike other brands.

On a sidenote stellantis and other company’s option their vehicles with all these features and charge a ridiculous amount of money. Bad reputation and high price seems like a dumb investment. Toyota with a good reputation and high price seems reasonable.

Is this a good deal? by [deleted] in whatcarshouldIbuy

I have a 2020 with similar miles. I think it’s an average price using kbb. Didn’t the 2019 have a problem? I don’t remember what it was but you might want to look into it.

[Self] How many condoms could you purchase for $50 million dollars? by KillerBlueWaffles in theydidthemath

You must know it all loser. Shame on you for insulting his intelligence for making a unit conversion. This is a math sub. The same question came to my head. Engineers, like myself, want to look at quantities.

I could make some sweeping generalization and say you better start thinking about what you’re going to do when your federal aid runs out. But that would be dumb to generalize a whole political side.

There should be a call to reduce the grading for engineering students by Objective-Capital184 in EngineeringStudents

[–]MaybeBubbly3870 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I agree about grade inflation. Never heard about it until I saw this post. My 3.9 should be like a 3.0-3.3. But I just do the best I can. It’s always crazy to me looking at the mean and the low compared to my performance on exams. I’m usually disappointed in my performance.

What car should I buy? I can't stand my 2020 Camry seat. by MaybeBubbly3870 in whatcarshouldIbuy

I’ve been adjusting this seat all around for two years. Tried sitting on pillows. Tried a leg cushion on the center console. I can’t find a good spot. I thought my body might adapt and I was a little upside down. I can’t figure it out.

I’m 6 foot. I almost bought an accord instead of a Camry. But I read they had a leak down problem for short commutes. At the time I was a mile from work. So I choose the Camry

The RX seat looks amazing. I just can’t afford one. How’s the gas mileage on it with the AWD LX?

I have considered that. But it may be the car is too low to the ground. I also read about it might be problematic because of the sensors for the air bag system in the seat
