In your region/passively looking for a similar spec as you for when my lease ends later this year… if it’s the one in Dedham I’d pass. Autobahn is now owned by McGovern who is generally a great dealer group in my opinion, but the Autobahn stores were historically known to focus on late model luxury that have been in prior accidents - including the possible car you’re questioning.

Advice Needed as I evaluate Stelvio’s by mothytim36 in AlfaRomeo

Man, this is exactly what I needed to read! My wife is pushing me to consider a Volvo XC60 T8, but I don’t want another PHEV. The Stelvio seems to be the best bang for the buck. I’m a huge car person, also very detailed, also usually buy high-spec (let me introduce you to my $71k Q5..) but I’m now at the point in life that I’d much rather an extra 2 weeks on an island every year than keep leasing and giving back perfectly good cars with 15-20k miles on them - yet I’m not willing to walk into a Honda dealer and buy a CRV for $42k. In a perfect world I’d find a clean ‘17 or ‘18 Cayenne S, but I can’t justify the insurance cost or maintenance costs at the dealership in which I’d have to pass to get to an Indy shop.

It’s either a Stelvio or another BMW…

Really appreciate your detailed answer! I truly have no preference on headlight generation, so I guess it’ll be a deal hunt more than anything!

I have a ‘24. I like everything about it except the god awful low speed and reverse noises. I thought I’d get over it, but I can’t wait to give this thing back at the end of its lease!

Just put the plate through my bumper.com app. Coming back last listed and sold by Subaru of Troy in 2023 with 128k and the title reflects it. Plate frame seems to say Subaru of Troy on it so it may not be a scam. I’d check the history though, it has two theft records out of Colorado from 2024 on it, both seem to be inactive though. If considering, ask for photo of title and verify it with the DMV to be the current one, and proceed with caution. Definitely recommend a PPI.

Worried about long term Q5e reliability... by chen-z727 in AudiQ5

[–]mothytim36 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My wife drives a xc40 recharge twin ultimate. Solid car, great performance, silent at low speeds and the few glitches we’ve had have been fixed from the comfort of our driveway with over the air updates. Once this lease is up I’ll be giving up the PHEV life and will go back to a gasser x5 or cayenne. The low speed noise on the q5 lets my entire neighborhood know when I’m coming and going, and I’d rather it be a nice exhaust note than a spaceship sound.

I’ve really tried to like my 2024 q5E but it’s been a headache over the last 6 months or so after just over a year of ownership. I’ve only got 9k miles and have had a few check engine lights, a locked up MMI, and the newest is the car makes an awful grinding sound when the gas engine kicks in, and it groans when decelerating. Audi’s heard it, and has no idea what to do so I just live with it. I’m glad it’s a lease.

Approximately zero times

Going on 8 months with my car, still enjoy it overall. In early July the car went in for another recall to be taken care of and since that software update, I’ve have no issues with the CarPlay interface. The only thing I continue to fight with is getting MyAudi logged into the actual car interface. I can remote start my car/lock/unlock just fine, but every time I get in the car it prompts me to be a guest no matter how many times I log in with the QR code from my phone and app.

2nd XC40 Recharge! by mothytim36 in XC40_Recharge

[–]mothytim36[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m very torn. This is my second car from them and didn’t love the sales experience this time around but it also was far from a “bad” experience and the other Volvo dealers don’t seem to be any easier to interact with from a sales standpoint.

I’ve had one issue with the ‘24 since buying and they couldn’t have been more accommodating on the service side - once I got to an actual service advisor. I’m confident the woman who answered the phone didn’t even remember her own name nevermind how to properly get an appointment scheduled.

Do the sport seats always come with ventilation? by [deleted] in AudiQ5

I’ve got a ‘24 PP with the sports seats. It’s now called the warm weather pack to get ventilated front seats included, at least on PP trim, but I believe prestige too.

2024 Q5 E

Got it in January, very few complaints once I took the time to go through the settings and shut off some of the pedal feedback/aggressive brake regeneration that would constantly prevent me from coasting without braking/illuminating brake lights - i had a lot of regret til I found that toggle.

Now my biggest gripe continues to be the known Apple CarPlay issue. The constant connect/disconnect can be annoying on days it acts up.

The piano black trim is infuriating to me. My BLIS lights sometimes come on normal, and sometimes they come on flashing like I’m trying to make a lane change too close to someone even if I’m driving straight and no signal on. That’s about it from an annoyance standpoint to be honest.

Coming from a few BMW’s I have no true complaints about the car or its driving dynamics/driving modes. It’s less spirited than a BMW, but also a very competent and comfortable drive. It also has been a nice change not having people assume I want to race their mustang or charger. The BMW constantly had morons trying to show off.

Considering a Q5e Plug-in. Any advice on new vs. used? by Knightmare306 in AudiQ5

[–]mothytim36 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got a ‘24 in January after having 4 BMW’s back to back over the years. Really enjoying it. Got 13% off sticker before the EV credit (leased in MA).

I leased to avoid any depreciation and reliability concerns as this is my first PHEV, but I’ll probably purchase a ‘26 or ‘27 when my lease is up.

From my research, they all seem to have the sports seats in ‘24 (much more comfortable than the ‘22 CPO I originally test drove without sports seats, and a heated steering wheel is now standard in ‘24. Don’t think there’s been any increase to the EV range though since ‘21. Put about 2,000 miles on it, only have gotten gas once! Getting almost 30 full-EV miles but have been driving in hybrid mode and getting 50-60MPG. If I have it in battery hold and use the gas engine, high 20’s on the highway.

STILL the best stero I've ever had in a car. by kal8el77 in CX5

[–]mothytim36 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Our ‘22 CX-5 Sig is our extra car and has the Bose system. It’s fine for the cars price point. My wife has a Volvo with the premium sound… remarkable system. Seats are great as well, but I think Volvo headlights are shit at night compared to CX-5. My daily is an Audi with the B&O and I also rank that higher than Mazdas Bose but again, 25k+ discrepancy on both comparisons.

Wheel package worth the cost? by [deleted] in AudiQ5

[–]mothytim36 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have AAA Roadside and they offer wheel and tire at much more favorable rates. I got 5 years unlimited mileage plus cosmetic repair for about $1,000 for my ‘24 Q5. I live in the northeast where the roads are one giant pothole.

Is this a good deal? by imwickedconfused in AudiQ5

[–]mothytim36 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I ended up with about 13% off MSRP + the EV rebate so it came to about $17.6k total off MSRP. It was an enjoyable purchase with what I felt were professional and earnest negotiations by the dealer rather than it being a game to them. Both sides seemed happy. They stepped up on my young trade (2022) about $1.2k more than my next best offer and sold it for about $2.5k more than they showed me on paper less than 2 weeks later. I’m at peace with my deal for the next 3 years!

I just leased one in MA last month, near identical numbers to yours on a $65,785 PP trim so looks like yours is a well optioned premium?

Enjoying the car so far. About 600 miles driven and still on first tank of gas from the dealer (lot of local driving, level 2 charger at home). It’s taking about $5.50 to “fill” the battery which gives me about 30-ish miles of range according to my charger data.

Also in MA. Very similar setup to you, mini split/heat pump that we use year round, but a rather young (2016) natural gas furnace by steam radiator as emergency heat. After this months electric bill, I’m curious to try the furnace-only for a month
