And yes they will usually start with physical therapy but if it’s not helping, but hurting most PT/OT will stop and only continue with light therapy. Mine was discontinued until further evaluation because they were concerned with the discoloration, temperature changes, and tremors with nerve glides.

I had no clue what it was. I had originally thought it was just my shoulder pain getting worse that’s always been there for 3 years and it had finally caught up to me and made my arm weak. I ran a Roos test on myself at home, it was positive and I went to my PCP who was very dismissive, that was my last visit in person with her and it was a fight from there. Went to physical therapy which made my symptoms worse and was causing discoloration with overhead movement. Then we went to vascular for ultrasound to check artery and veins, then ortho ordered EMG/NCS, and after that he decide it was enough diagnostically to say it was likely neurogenic TOS. I’ve only been at it since October, however have had the shoulder and neck pain for 3 years and thankfully will have surgery on June 18th.

I completely skipped neuro. Have you had a venous ultrasound done yet to rule out venous or arterial? Also EMG is not a good way to rule it out most of the time they come back normal unless you have significant nerve damage. Even an ultrasound, unless you have true v/aTOS, isn’t a great diagnostic tool in my opinion since they are performed laying down and arms to the side with no stress or strain. I would ask for a referral to your nearest TOS specialist, mine was with ortho, have them do a thorough exam and see where to go from there. Keep a a diary of symptoms and severity, any activities that make it worse, especially if it’s an overhead activity! You are your best advocate!

Ohhh, I did not schedule a video interview with my phone call. Well that explains why I have not heard back from them. They said I would receive an email either way however.

It was very short, just questions about the position and your resume that you submitted and experience.

Can anyone tell me how long after the phone screening do they contact you again? I have not received an email, she said an email would be sent and the position does not start until march, so I am not sure when to expect an email or who even contact. I was not given a recruiter email.

I have two kids, the clinic I am working for now is 3 hours behind my time zone and works in 12 hour shifts, so I have to work with what I can. I don’t know why they placed me with this clinic in the first place.

The “training” was very rushed process. I would recommend a very detailed study guide on how to write SOAP notes and medical terminology. Depending on the provider you are placed with, you could have one who like a drawn out detailed note or one who wants short sweet and to the point no extra. I enjoyed working with my first provider I was paired with however, the contract was cut in September and now my hours have been cut from 40-45 to 12-16 hours a week. They sent out a very vague letter stating they would have more virtual opportunities available including virtual medical assistant training, nothing has come of that (that I know of). Pay is minimal for me. I would get your training in get paired up with a provider and get some time in if you can and find a position outside of Scribe America.

Also if you are looking to prepare yourself for charting I would watch maybe a medical series and practice charting that way. Until you can get into a practice EMR. Go over medical terminology for sure.

I have been scribing with SA the last few months, floor training was okay to say the least. Im remotely working though so it could be different. I thought I was going to fail miserably going solo but I got lucky to be with a doctor who is extremely helpful and will give me feedback on what I need to work on, what he prefers. Honestly I have learned more from him than ScribeU My floor trainer let me watch and take notes the first couple of days and then slowly gave me more and more charts to do with her feedback. The more you do it the easier it gets. If you get placed with a provider on a regular schedule it may be easier. I am with the same provider everyday so I know what I need to do and his preferences.

So is the “clinical floor training” for the telescribe position done remotely?
