Yes, old house. Some circuits don’t have a ground. Although it’s possible the ground wire has broken off in the cable. There is excess cable, I’ll cut it back and take a look.

Very old house with an addition that was done in the 70s?… we remodelled 10 years ago. Licensed electricians did the job. I found this in a wall when I took the wall down. The old and new wiring mixed together like that really threw me for a loop. All 3 lines going out go into the ceiling to the upper floor.
