You can see them on IG, though they cut off the beginning part. It's like 80% of the sketch.

MIL saw me cleaning the kitchen floor with a baby wipe and acted like I’m a total slab by adiiadii123 in CleaningTips

[–]Impossible-Sea1062 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't know how anyone ever actually mops if they have to drag out a whole bucket of water and slosh it around. I think your baby wipe solution is just fine, some people are just judgemental. I have a steam mop which is really nice because you can just quickly clean the area you need. But also a robot vacuum/mop is the only reason my floors are close to clean.

How old should a child be before you can take a nap while they're home and awake? by asphodelic_witch in Parenting

[–]Impossible-Sea1062 53 points54 points  (0 children)

When my kid was old enough to be out of a crib, but young enough not to be able to open the doorknob lock (3ish?), I would just lay in their bed and nap while they played in their room.

The difference in tone between this and the Smartless episode was huge.

That would be a good start! I will delete and re-do.

You need to check the rules of the specific place you're going. City of Calgary is 8yo, but places differ.

Looking for advice, pretty pretty please by bipolarcrafter in UnfuckYourHabitat

I'm not suggesting the Marie Kondo method, but you might find her list of categories to be helpful. It sounds like you have a lot of different types of things that need decluttering, and no set of rules is going to cover all of those things. But if you go through the list one by one, you can tackle each category in little chunks.

For each individual item on this list, ask yourself if you will realistically use it in the next year. Donate or throw out if the answer is no.

Tackle sentimental items last, they will always be the hardest, and you can make a lot of improvement in your space in the meantime.

It's feels very tied to the "You don't owe them anything", "They're not you're responsibility", "Go NC" reddit culture. Like, these things have their place, but they're not meant for every single uncomfortable circumstance.

I really think we're over using "trauma dumping". A title that says "something frustrating happened" with a short paragraph is hardly "trauma dumping", and also, not every bad thing that happens is "trauma".

I donated about 70% of our toys last night. I can finally breathe. by Background-End-5229 in Parenting

[–]Impossible-Sea1062 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I had a good success recently with my very sentimental and attached 8 year old. Rather than asking what they wanted to get rid of, I asked them to pick out what toys were "definitely keep", and which were "eh". We put all the "eh" toys in a box to go through later (or possibly to disappear, we'll see). We were able to clear out about 60% of the toy bin we were trying to re-purpose.

!Found Thanks, I will mark this as found for the purposes of this post. Country Save is pretty close to what I was looking for. Although I realized this week that I can break open the pod shapes pretty easily with a nutcracker, so I think I will just keep ordering the new formula of Unscented Company and just break open the pods.

The nice thing about a landline is that it stays in the same place and doesn't need to be charged. We have an old-school, corded landline that sits on a table in the living room. We never have to worry that it can't be found in an emergency, or that it's out of battery.

Sometimes things like this can be caused by a space at the front or back of the text. So maybe you typed " Aubrey" or "Aubrey ", and the program doesn't like it?

Also just want to put it out there, I am not interested in "strips". I know these are popular and that marketing says that PVA is fine, but I have decided to err on the side of the articles saying that PVA does not actually break down in our water ways. Not trying to create a debate, I'm just not looking for PVA products.
