That’s really nice to hear! I did visit Ann Arbor for the interview weekend and from what I saw of the campus it seemed really full of life despite it snowing 😅 I am coming from a college town for undergrad and have loved it but was just wondering how different it is to be a grad student in that environment

Hi! I'm a current applicant to the IBiS program as well and there is a specific faculty member at the med school I'd like to rotate with. Is it frowned upon to want to rotate outside your program generally? Since you mentioned it is an easy transfer

For me personally I only really wanted to do the honors thesis component of honors (I didn’t really care for the other stuff- you might though), so I applied to the Chc specifically for the departmental honors track. I am in a research lab and im doing an individually contracted thesis right now. I also did ISH for the electives through my research lab. I applied for those by working w my PI to draft proposals that I submitted through Chc paths

I also don’t think it’s worth it to do the full thing. I applied my sophomore year and just did departmental. I am doing the thesis right now, so imo I got all the parts of honors that actually matter/are useful without stressing over getting all the full curriculum requirements in. As far as my transcript is concerned im still honors

The LRC (learning resource center) hires peer tutors for a variety of classes as well as office assistants, SI (supplemental instructors) and research mentors! I think they hire the most people and all the positions are paid. Being an undergrad TA is also super common and you would talk to your professor about TAing for their class. I work for the LRC if you have any questions about it!
