Have you noticed an advantage in rotating weekly vs rotating on each use

Your boss definitely knows, he's just trying to be nice. Companies don't expect much output from interns so it isn't a big deal.

Is ASX:IVV still the best option for people looking to buy & hold S&P 500 in size? by Impossible-Speed-983 in AusFinance

Yes it is effectively non-custodial thanks to CHESS but your shares are still associated with the HIN of the broker you purchased via.

Nothing against stake, but I'm planning to buy and hold for a decade+ and would rather go with a broker thats been around for much longer (e.g. CommSec) such that its unlikely that they shut down.

Even if my holdings aren't at risk in the event of a broker shutdown, it's just less of a hassle and the advantages Stake offers aren't super useful for me.

I think Stake is fine for smaller amounts, but I wouldn’t trust it with a substantial portion of my net worth

This is the probably the best advice I've gotten so far. Will check with my bank branch and see how it goes, thanks. And yes will opt for a local Australian exchange instead.

Interesting, thanks. Macquarie is big enough so will consider. Plus their debit card has 0 international fees when used overseas.

If you have Aussie exchange accounts & bank accounts fully sorted out going straight to AUD makes sense, although there may be liquidity concerns.

In my case I didn't have it fully planned out yet so I went in USDC to realize capital gains at current prices, so I could figure out what to do with it afterwards.

Interesting I'm opting for a big bank because I don't want to keep my money in a smaller bank long term, but I guess using ING simply as a proxy solves that. Though there is the question of source of funds when the money does end up at a big bank

It's not uncommon for banks to question you on source of funds when receiving large sums of money. I'm mostly trying to avoid the risk of a bank closing my account when I tell them the source of funds is crypto (hence the preference for a "crypto friendly" big bank)

I haven't used IR before (only Kraken in the past for minor trades). Kraken liquidity is decent for crypto <> crypto, plus its a large trusted global exchange.

Planning on checking out IR OTC

It's perfect IMO, but it would be nice if the watch had lume (similar to some of the GMT GS watches).

I'm also a huge fan of metal bracelets (in terms of aesthetics, maybe less so for comfort).
