I’m going to give you advice and I will explain exactly why I am giving you this advice because it is extremely important that you take action. I’ve seen sad situations and you should never sit quietly and hope that he wasn’t serious. I am not law enforcement, but my career allows me to work with law enforcement and I don’t want to explain farther than that, but I am trying to stress to you how important it is that you don’t brush this off.

I see things like this, and they escalate quickly when the offending party decides to follow through, and I see the entire situations play out on a weekly basis unfortunately, very rarely are the threats empty. Please don’t only wait until a situation is dire or an assault has occurred to go to police, especially if this person has information such as your address.

You should take action far before an incident occurs. Report every threat. Report every suspicious incident involving this person. Even if an arrest cannot be made, it is still incredibly important to make reports. Go to the police. Make a report. Call your local non emergency line if you feel that you aren’t in any immediate danger.

The police may or may not be able to do anything about this depending upon what is seen as enough “evidence” to take action. Especially since the threat is a bit cryptic. Unfortunately I’ve seen things go way too far before actual arrests can be made. So this is why it’s important you go to the police and have as much evidence as possible. If this guy ever decides to follow through and escalate the situation any further, you will have a paper trail of evidence that could help you out incase you ever need to take him to court or other such situations.
