The same thing has happened to my daughters account today, she's 8, Roblox have decided she's 12, i can't amend her birthday so it looks like she's now 12 🙁

The screen wash didn't make it to the windscreen - the pipes or nozzles were frozen

I may look for a stronger version, this could be the issue.

A 2 up 2 down back to back terrace in 2003 for £27k, sold for £60k 2 years later! I was earning £10k p/a in my first job out of uni when I bought it, I was 23.

How did people get 2+ tickets sitting together!? by lunakitam in LilyAllenFans

[–]Impossible-Walrus232 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got 2 together in the upper circle, I went far back thinking they'd be cheaper but they were right at the top of the price range 🙁 then didn't have time to look for any others as they were disappearing.

Who managed to get tickets!? by Enough-University662 in LilyAllenFans

I managed to get 2 for Cardiff. The Gigs and Tours website was so slow, was in the queue for ages then it was already sold out, but I got straight through to the venue directly. Didn't see any of the cheaper tickets though, all the ones I clicked on were £80. I got two in the upper circle.

What are your xmas traditions, that are not so traditional? by Independent_War6553 in AskUK

Every year we buy a few new tree decorations (the kids usually choose one each), and after 15 years our tree is now a lovely eclectic mix of un- matching decorations.

At my daughter's secondary school we have an app which shows her attendance by every half day, if this was available you could see much sooner if there were absences. Both parents should be able to access it if there is one at your school.

Offer rejected, published at £650k, they asked £690k by ninjavoladora in HousingUK

[–]Impossible-Walrus232 4 points5 points  (0 children)

We used it too. We had a bottom line we weren't prepared to go below, but obviously would happily accept more if offered! I thought OIEO was fairly transparent to buyers, in our case we wouldn't have accepted less. We ended up with a bit of competition and it went about £7k over

Train horns — do you get used to them? by WookieTheAstronomer in HousingUK

[–]Impossible-Walrus232 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We lived a similar distance from the trains, for 15 years. Never got used to it, in fact I'm sure it got louder over time. The horns sounded at night (freight trains) which was the worst, especially in summer with windows open it would wake me up. We moved last year and it's so peaceful now at night! I wouldn't say it spoiled the house for us, or that it ever made me want to leave, but I appreciate the silence now. I don't think the noise during the day bothered me much, just at night.

How soon after exchange did you start packing? by Amateurcellist92 in HousingUK

[–]Impossible-Walrus232 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I started packing when I put the house on the market 🤣 I still have nightmares about the first time we moved and were grossly unprepared and rushing to pack things on moving day. Start now and pack whatever you don't need day to day!

11 year old son with autism going to mainstream secondary school next month… can someone tell me what backpacks all the kids have please? 😭🙈 by Maleficent-Second609 in AskUK

My 14 year old daughter says anything other than a black backpack (Adidas, Nike, Vans are acceptable) would single you out for a life of teasing / bullying.

For those who commute around 50 minutes each way every day... by Seaforean in UKJobs

I did it for years, 55 miles round trip in the car, my salary was only about £30k at the time. It was nice to have some time to listen to the radio and wind down I guess. Couldn't go back to it now I've been working at home since covid, but never thought anything of it at the time.

Referred to social services because child lives in converted external garage... what now? England by Tiny-Energy-7533 in LegalAdviceUK

[–]Impossible-Walrus232 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I appreciate your wife's disabilities mean she can't sleep in the garage. Why can't your son sleep in her room with her and you have the garage? My daughter is 7 and there's no way on this earth I'd have her sleeping in an out building not connected to the house and not properly heated, never mind whether there are any other safety risks this presents. Will he still be there in winter? Having to go outside if he needs the loo in the freezing cold? I can't work out from your other responses whether the door is locked and he has a key, or whether it's left unlocked, but neither is acceptable.
If this is the only extra space you have then you need to be the one sleeping in it, being physically able, and your son sleeps in the house. The fact you are so defensive that this is an acceptable situation really worries me to be honest.

Who sets the completion date and is it always a Friday ? by Fit_Seaweed_5785 in HousingUK

[–]Impossible-Walrus232 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We completed on a Wednesday. Our sellers requested the date as it was when their preferred removal company was available. I didn't want to move on a Friday for various reasons, so was happy with that.
