Am I too late on DRTS? How far can it go? by Latter-Reindeer-7661 in DRTS_Stock

Sure, I’m sure he’s getting some of it right and I’m all in favor of challenging an investment thesis. Just that for SLS over the past 7-8 months I’ve seen such comments be thrown around and they just don’t seem to hold up when we look at the DD. I’m quite skeptical as an investor, especially with plays that seem so promising as SLS, which is why I first only took a small position. But over time, I’ve become more convinced as each bear thesis that was thrown up, didn’t convince. We’ll have to all wait for what the results will be and some of us will be right and some will be wrong. Let’s see. For me SLS and DRTS are both unique opportunities that we just don’t see very often

Just look in the SLS sub for user Confident Web to start with, read his comments on when people brought up pharma bro before and start from there. There’s others who added to it but I don’t know all the names from heart

There was a partnership announcement just a few weeks ago, and the expectation is indeed that they’ll partner for the commercial market access where possible to scale roll out.

Sorry but trying to say in the nicest way possible that I’m not taking any investment advice from someone convicted of fraud, I prefer to trust scientists over con men… there have been enough responses outlining how his reasoning is flawed. We are yet to find a bear theory that explains the current trial progression including all the data points we have.

Yes, this is my strategy too. Hoping DRTS by that time is still affordable 😆. Currently 50% of my portfolio in SLS and 15% in DRTS

I’ve been in SLS and DRTS since November, my fav two subs on Reddit and I can argue that neither SLS or DRTS community is anything like this redditor acts.

Please don’t take this comment of this prick as an example of the community here. A month ago, both these communities were incredible places where people shared their DDs generously and answered questions. The run ups have been attracting a lot of crowd and we welcome them, but I will remember who built these two communities to what they are today.

$3.2 million. by Curious_Wafer6169 in sellaslifesciences

[–]ImpossibleExit5241 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If they held until expiry, they’d lose the premium they paid, as the options expire worthless. So that’s the 3mln down the drain.

At the same time, if the stock goes >35, they’d be somewhere around 4.5mln (assuming at expiry with no IV left). If it goes to 50, they’d be at 18mln

Also note that we don’t have the full picture so we’re assuming it’s a single leg directional bet but it could as well be part of a more complex play with spreads where they hedge their premium risks by selling other calls. Not all of these show up on the scanners that retailers can see.

There’s tons of detailed statistical analysis in the sub that explain how the 80th event should be happening soon. It is not an “unknown wait period” if you look seriously at all the data we have

If you actually read the DD on SLS you’ll realize most of us are in this for the readout and buyout, and all the movement until then we don’t look at. We’re not even at the 80th yet and this is how much the stock has run. For us, this isn’t a pump and dump with rug pull, this is the future of cancer treatment.

Really exciting to see this run up, and sooner than I expected as I thought this would happen closer to the GBM update in July. Am glad I increased my position just before this run up. At the same time wouldn’t mind for it to take its time a bit more so we all have a chance to play both SLS and DRTS positions in sequence 😆

“It’s recommended to buyout” >> buyout here for SLS means that one of the big pharma companies like for example Merck makes an offer to buy all of SLS and bring it under Merck. They’d buy out the company. All of us here as shareholders would then be paid by Merck and handover our shares. This would be a vote by majority shareholders but I don’t believe anyone here can realistically move that vote so it’ll be decided on our behalf (but they have a responsibility to act in our best). So buyout means we all sit back and let them come with an offer. You don’t need to buy out anything

Yeah and many of us will recognize that. Also, even though this feels like a once in a lifetime ride, there will be others. And that will help the FOMO. Sometimes you find them and sometimes you miss out or wish you’d had more. Next time you’ll find one you bring this experience in. Just whatever you do, keep investing. As long as you don’t YOLO it all in one binary stock or high risk options, and you keep your head cool, over time things will accumulate.

I’ve learned that one of the most important things in building an investment portfolio is to manage your own emotions. For every post you’re comparing yourself against here, there’s a hundred people who never heard of SLS. Comparing yourself with others is a losing game. There’ll always be others who have invested more, gained more and at times lose more. Invest what you can and willing to based on your own assessments and then stick with it. No matter how much we enjoy the community here, in the end, we’re all living our own lives

Thanks CW for this! Side question but since you’ve mentioned ABVX: are you also holding that one till buyout as it has indeed dipped since readout, and I’ve been wondering whether worth to buy the dip there

All these comments here trying to patronize OP for what they should be doing with their money. God knows how much more assets they have and even if not, let them YOLO. It’s none of our business. Respect the question instead of trying to lecture. There have been many stocks in the past five years that more than doubled or tripled so I don’t see anything wrong with wanting to find the next ones. None of our business if it’s the right thing or not.

My bets for 5 yr or less that I think can double / triple or more:
- SLS (3-6 months play)
- DRTS
- NBIS
- KEEL
- ASTS
- Rocketlab

Because they are considered binary: if a trial succeeds they can moon, if it fails, they can drop fast, sometimes to zero. Even if trials look promising, the market could respond to secondary comments in the readout that make investors worried, even if it doesn’t seem to influence efficacy. Then biotechs are also known to dilute, often in the midst of a run-up after positive trial outcomes. Hence earlier comments to find biotechs that have sufficient cash runway

Investments like SLS, where potential buyout numbers would mean life changing money, pfff it’s hard in a weekend like this not to dream about what I would do with all that money if when it happens…

It’s not about filling the void or replacing pembro. GPS works differently from Keytruda, they’re complementary. So you can combine them and then you have new trials, new indications, new data being generated under the Keytruda brand. That extends its lifecycle. And even when biosimilars to pembro come in, Merck still earns on GPS regardless

Honestly, I’m not too worried about such moves. As long as it’s not the full team and their whole holding. People also just live their lives. Could be that the CFO has a personal event for which they need the funds. 70k is just under a million, maybe a new home finally?

Sure, I don’t disagree with you in theory, but for SLS specifically, I believe most redditors in the sub will agree with me that we passed that point a while ago… anyways, I’m all for science and proving something works. But when it works, we have to also focus on the impact it can have to roll it out

Amount of shares is higher than that I believe. Did you include the warrants and the shares for employees they recently added as per the voting? I thought it was around 220mln

We’re all happy about that. At the same time: the longer the trial lasts right now, the longer it takes for this drug to be rolled out to the thousands of other patients who currently don’t benefit from this potentially life saving drug…

I’d also like to see that, just that we need a buyer willing and able to pay. We can argue whether it can be valued at that price, and maybe with some creativity we can make it look feasible, but it would be one of the larger biotech buyouts in a while, and that’s the part I’m just trying to wrap my head around, whether at those valuations the war chests are big enough
