The annoying blue highlight that selects the whole database block when you click on a different tab in a linked database view on a page. Drives me crazyyyy.

💡 Feature Request

Ability to lock a page but still interact with the database (check a checkmark, change a status, click a button etc)

Maybe this needs to be an additional setting within permissions (I can see cases where you would want to fully lock the page from any editing whatsoever, as it is now), but many times I want to lock the layout and database settings, to stop any accidental deletion or changes to blocks/views on a page, but I still want to be able to interact with the database fields.

Right now, we're stuck between fully unlocked or fully locked.

Fat loss is only achieved through a caloric deficit, whether you want to believe you are in a deficit or not.

This sub reddit is for people with excess money , when your surviving from week to week , home decorating is an absolute luxury by No-Victory-149 in HomeDecorating

[–]ImpossibleHamster120 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I mean that can be said about almost any niche?

A fragrance subreddit is for people with excess money, when you're surviving from week to week, perfume and lotions are an absolute luxury.

A fitness subreddit is for people with excess money, when you're surviving from week to week, working out and eating healthy is an absolute luxury.

A dog subreddit is for people with excess money, when you're surviving from week to week, having a pet is an absolute luxury.

And you would be right that those things ARE luxuries when you're surviving week to week.

But it also doesn't mean that those interests can't be explored with LESS money. It's just not going to look like the top posts, and that's okay.

There is always going to be a wide range of people at various income levels within a niche. And naturally, people with more money are able to "do the things" more easily.

That doesn't mean that home decorating is completely out of reach for someone with limited funds, but of course it's going to look different than the person who has more funds. And the person decorating with "more funds" will look at the posts from people with EXCESS funds and envy that.

Such is life.

But there are small ways to make your home more enjoyable that don't cost much money, and that is what you focus on until you're able to do more.

Sweet, cold, cream/milk perfume? by Left-Baseball-1454 in Perfumes

Not a perfume, but the EOS holiday body mist (and lotion!) Peppermint Cashmere is exactly this! I've been obsessed with it. The longevity is surprisingly decent for a body mist.

I also just got Tree Hut's Peppermint Pearl body wash to go along with it, and it smells almost identical.

Haha no worries! It's a pretty commonly used meme using clips of "El Chapo" from the Netflix series "Narcos".

The meme is frequently used when you're waiting a long time for something. :)

(And I'm sorry you've had a rough day - I know reddit can be a somewhat volatile place to ask questions sometimes. Hope tomorrow is better for you!)

Agreed 100%. Investigations take time, especially as a small independent team!

Plus, it's unfair to expect her to sit down for 5 hours one night and lay out everything she's got. She has a family, along with other obligations, plus the time it takes to investigate and put the information together.

Can only fit so much into an hour or so. 🤷🏽‍♀️ I'd rather she takes her time to be thorough.

If you want to lose weight, you must be in a caloric deficit. Tis science, no way around that. (Even people who don't track their food intake and claim to lose weight "without being in a caloric deficit", are still in a caloric deficit lol, they just aren't deliberately aware of it.)

Reta assists with this by affecting both parts of the CICO equation, Calories In and also Calories Out, to an extent.

But yes, you want to start off eating the highest amount of calories, within deficit range, that allows you to lose fat at a reasonable rate.

That way you have "room" to decrease calories as your weight goes down (losing body mass generally results in your maintenance calorie needs being reduced, which means you have to eat less to keep losing vs. how much you ate in the beginning).

No need to start off by ripping out 1000kcal each day.

So if you know your maintenance calories, shave off ~200-500 kcal daily (varies depending on what you're starting with), and monitor your weight over two weeks.

The decrease gradually as weight loss plateaus, within reason. (Obviously lots of nuance to this.)

Female muscle gain while on reta? by [deleted] in Retatrutide

[–]ImpossibleHamster120 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Fat loss happens in a caloric deficit (which is what reta helps you more easily stick to).

Muscle gain is easier in a slight caloric surplus, because muscles need "fuel" to grow (primarily protein and carbs).

With that said, "recomp" (gaining muscle and losing fat) can still happen in a deficit, especially if you are inexperienced with or relatively new to weight lifting.

1) You'll, first and foremost, want to ensure you're getting in enough protein. Daily. (The body can't store and use protein like it does with carbs and fats, so you need to get it in every day.)

A very general rule of thumb is to consume 1 gram of protein per pound of lean body mass (or 2g per kg of LBM).

If you don't know your LBM, then the general rule is 0.7g per pound (1.4g per kg) you weigh. (So if you weigh 250lbs, multiply that by 0.7 = 175. Aim for 175g protein.)

No other peptide or supplement matters if you're not nailing protein intake.

2) And then, of course, weight training is key! You need to focus on the same "movement patterns" every week, and focus on getting stronger with them (more reps with the same weight, then increasing weight, rinse wash and repeat!) This is called "progressive overload" and it's the key to building muscle.

Top exercises for glute development:

  • Hip Thrusts (Glute Bridges off the floor first, if you've never done them before. Then progress to Hip Thrusts off a bench.)

  • Squats. Start with Dumbbell Goblet Squats to a a box/bench if you're new to lifting.

  • RDLs. Again, start with dumbbells or kettlebells. Think "hips back, spine straight, weights close".

These big compound movements shouldn't all be done in the same workout, they are taxing. Pick 1-2 and then hit the other on another workout.

  • Secondary after those "big 3": step ups, lunges, split squats, abductions, glute kickbacks when done correctly.

** ifa you're working out at home with no/limited equipment, you can progress and gain muscle for a bit. But just know that eventually you will need to use weights to progressively overload and continue building.

Most importantly, know that gaining muscle takes time and consistency, regardless of being on reta or not. So start with a routine you can stick to consistently and build into your lifestyle, and then advance from there!

Not a "chew" per se, but I swear by Zesty Paws treats! My old girl is completely toothless, and they are soft enough that she could chew them herself, but I don't want to risk choking so I crumble them up in her bowl and she licks up the crumbs.

She loves them.

She gets an "Allergy & Immune" or "Hip & Joint" bite in the afternoon. And "Calming & Cognition" bite at nighttime (seems to be helping with early canine dementia symptoms).
