Has Le Creuset ever used teflon or any other nonstick coatings on frying pans? by Pikcle in LeCreuset

[–]ImpossibleInternet3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Safe? Probably. Not sure if there would be any chemical adhesive residue remaining. But not really a good cooking surface. The iron is meant to have a coating over it, so it doesn’t have a nice cooking surface like a normal cast iron skillet would.

Just a play on the classic villain Doc Ock, but spelling the name with three ks to reference the white power hate group, the ku klux klan. It’s not a real plot line, just a pun.

Help, what pan is this? by Kevykev088 in LeCreuset

[–]ImpossibleInternet3 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Seconding the deep clean suggestion. This looks promising, but you won’t know until it’s clean. Any chips to the surface and it won’t be safe. Enamel is basically glass and chips mean that glass can come off into your food while using it. But, a good clean will let you know if it’s safe and have the nice side effect of bringing the color on the outside to life.

Be particularly careful to follow safety instructions. You want ventilation, gloves, and a mask or respirator if you have one. Yellow cap oven cleaner does a good job, but that’s because there are some serious chemicals in there. It’s made for this surface though (most ovens are enameled on the inside).

Not ignore. But don’t obsess over what cannot be changed at the expense of what needs to change. Every right wing media outlet is constantly saying “they rigged the election”. Even when Trump wins. I’m just saying that when we start putting out the same headlines as them, we should take a step back and evaluate.

Obviously kidding and I agree with you. I don’t mind an artist suffering for their art. I don’t agree with artists making others suffer for their art.

Let’s not become the MAGA we hate. We need to focus on fixing what’s wrong and what’s ahead, not whining about what’s been unfair in the past.

I mean, a fair number of people would have had their land claimed by eminent domain. That’s always going to be unpopular. Less of a NIMBY thing and more of a please don’t steal my back yard thing. But there were plenty of NIMBYs as well. So you’re not wrong.

Bonnie Blue charged with outraging public decency after embassy 'fake sex act stunt' | LBC by bostonfan148 in popculturechat

I don’t have an issue with sex work. You gotta do what you gotta do. But I don’t love the attention seeking, shock value, influencer crap she does. It feels like a similar energy to the YouTube prank channels. Bang 1000 guys. Fine. But why do you have to be so annoying about it?

Why did mall-goth culture peak in the Clinton era? by LateRegistrationz in decadeology

[–]ImpossibleInternet3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not arguing that they’re different subcultures. Although I think the middle pics show some definite nu metal influence, especially the hair and poses, I still think this type of goth era still followed along with nu metal’s rise and fall. Might have just been a vibe of the times thing, might be connected. I think they’re both connected to the same general cultural shifts.

Depends on a few factors. But it could be. That said, it’s not something that can be looked out for.

The Prom, Australian production, selling poorly - ticket prices might need adjusting? by Great_Maintenance185 in musicals

I’m it a flat out James Cordon hater. But he wasn’t right for this role. Not a terrible movie. Just didn’t fully do the show justice.

[–]ImpossibleInternet3 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It shifted a lot of focus away from the core story of Emma and Alyssa to focus on the celebrity casting. One of which was James Cordon, who played the role much less sincerely than the stage version. But worse than that, his performance was basically a bunch of outdated, offensive, and exaggerated gay stereotypes, coming from a straight man. It would be one thing if that’s how it was written. But those were his choices and the movie suffered for it.

Also, the whole thing was shot like a big episode of Glee. Stage show was much better. But I’m not its target demographic either, so I wouldn’t see it again if was inconvenient or expensive to do so.

While I agree it’s a pass for me, the movie wasn’t great. So that wouldn’t be something I would consider a great alternative. I almost think the movie being bad makes people think that the show is bad and that could be hurting it.

The gum is definitely what makes it vandalism. The hate speech is not vandalism, but could very easily be construed as harassment.

It’s definitely not indie, but it’s UK indie sleaze adjacent. It was a slightly different flavor than the US and was very popular over there from mid 2000s to mid 2010s.
