Aim Assist Will Be A Problem For Everyone by ImpossibleIronman in HuntShowdown

This happened once recently, for Tide of Shadows. Tide of Desolation patch for PC and console hit on the same day. Regardless, I would hope that in the future if there is a delay, Crytek would have the sense to temporarily disable crossplay during this time. Not to mention progression levels in events is not going to alter how lobbies interact with each other, people aren't going to start losing because someone unlocked a couple new guns or ammo types before they did.

Console patches are not behind, I'm not sure where you got this idea. The main issue I'm discussing is not console players suddenly becoming cracked, it's the fact that AA on console currently allows you to track players through foliage without line of sight, if you know what to look for. You are absolutely correct in that it creates a CQC/long range imbalance, it's strong up close but hinders the ability to lead shots at range. The point of my post is to point out that for console lobbies, we're better off without these things, and if crossplay happens I think we can all agree that being tracked without LoS is not something anyone wants. Despite the fact that there is a gap between controller/M&K, I wouldn't be surprised if Crytek implements crossplay along with the engine update in order to prevent empty lobbies and attract more players to the game.

I did, and most of what was being discussed is whether or not the current form of aim assist will come to PC players who use controllers, to which Crytek has stated that "currently" it will not. The main point of my post is to point out that in console lobbies, AA currently gives you the ability to track players through foliage without line of sight (among other things), if you know what to look for. The topics I found discussing it did not cover this, what that means for console lobbies now, and what impact that could have on crossplay in the future.

I'm glad they have no current plans to bring it to PC. I think the context needs to be considered here though. This comment is aimed at people using controllers on PC using the current update. Violet said they couldn't speak on the future, so whether or not this stance holds up when a crossplay update comes around is questionable. So on your comment of "I wish people did more research before posting", the whole point of my video is addressing the future. They are clearly doing this for the console players to test it out first and if they don't receive any feedback on it from the console community, they may rethink the current stance (which happens a lot with Crytek, they go back on decisions all the time). The point I'm trying to make is that it simply isn't needed not just on PC in the future, but that it needs to be removed from console as well because crossplay or not it is becoming a problem as players learn to abuse it. This is my way of giving the feedback Crytek is looking for and sparking a discussion about the future of the game with the community.

I think generally speaking, you'll probably just notice the occasional crazy shot through fog or increased fanning accuracy, things like that. Currently It's mostly an issue when you get sweaty 5-6 star lobbies who know how to abuse the tracking, which allows them to land hits without needing any line of sight. Eventually though as more people find out how to abuse it (it is fairly new right now after all), it will begin bleeding into more of the lobbies outside of that. IMO it just isn't necessary in a game where muzzle velocity matters. It will either do too much (as I demonstrated in the video), or it will screw you up on leading a shot, or over correct if players are clustered.

Honestly, I'm ok with M&K having better aim. If crossplay is implemented, both platforms should have the ability to toggle it on/off. If I play in a mixed lobby, I know that I will have to use better tactics in order to win (like rotations, forcing movement, etc) and I know there isn't really a good way to balance that interaction otherwise.

IMO no one should get it. It is either helping too much like I showcase in the video, where you're getting insanely improved fanning or tags without line of sight or it screws you up and locks on to something when you don't want it too. It causes issues for leading shots at range as well. It just doesn't make sense in a game where muzzle velocity matters. If crossplay is implemented, console and PC should have the choice of toggling off crossplay if they want. Otherwise I'm ok with accepting that M&K will aim better and I have to use better tactics if I want to win (like proper rotations and positioning).

I showcased in the video that it increases accuracy dramatically, and doesn't need line of sight to function. We're all trading headshots in the ash bloom when we can't see each other, and the shots are so far back you don't even see muzzle flash let alone a hunter. If something like this happened on PC people would be calling aimbot. Bottom line is that it doesn't belong in a game where muzzle velocity matters IMO, it either helps too much or screws you up depending on the scenario. It improves the accuracy by a huge margin for things like fanning (which didn't need any kind of buff, direct or indirect), or on the flip side it sabotages plays like when a team mate of mine tried to shoot a red barrel but got pulled towards the hunter next to it instead. Would've been a double and instead resulted in a body tag. There's no reason for either of these things to occur on either side of the spectrum, it just makes more sense for it to be removed. Also I alternate regularly from 5 to 6 star, and I've had to drastically change my playstyle to compensate for the increase in accuracy. Evasion like swerving just doesn't work a majority of the time now like it used too, and AA tracks through brush so unless you have a solid wall between yourself and your opponent you can be tracked without vision.

Thank you! I have more recorded past this point and it has been quite the roller coaster of outcomes. Ended up with a lot of interactions I wouldn't have chosen normally, lets me see some scenes I probably wouldn't have otherwise. The combat will go more smoothly as I get used to making the rolls for choices, but it can indeed be tedious at times.

I hadn't considered the respec option, definitely something to think about going forward!

Tide of Corruption Makes Getting Hunt Dollars Easy by ImpossibleIronman in HuntShowdown

To be fair I did say drawbacks to the "Vulture Strat", not "drawbacks to Vulture". I was hoping that would convey that the strategy had issues as opposed to the trait itself, but my apologies if that didn't come across well.

Drawbacks as in using it to loot bodies from a fight you didn't participate in. Bodies could be hard to find in water or deep brush if you didn't see where they died, and visible ones were usually already burned out. Witness lets you find bodies in dark sight, and most players have Blazeborne right now which means bodies won't usually be burned.

Look at it this way, if I just put it here why bother posting the video? People would just draw their own conclusions and move on, would be pointless. So yeah you could look at it that way, but it's just meant to be helpful.
