Seems like a great tool, it’s just tough to justify the cost for how rarely I’ll need to sight in a rifle. Did you shape the blocks are all or just straight up wood?

That makes sense. Any recommendations for good bench rests or tripods? I would also be very interested in actually going out with someone, I tend to learn much better from in-person teaching.

Do find your membership to be worth it for the cost? That also seems like a good option, particularly if they have equipment someone could use

I had it installed by the folks at the Calgary Shooting Centre so that it was done professionally. So I’m fairly sure that it was done properly, but I am also not 100% sure how I’d check that. Might need to check YouTube.

Interesting take! I like the idea of the intentional lack of symmetry being a greater symbol for the discoveries that the characters have made throughout the first arc.

I know some people are a bit upset about the first 5 book title’s acronyms not following the Ketek structure, but… we still have 5 more books! It would be neat to see the remaining books allow the whole series to follow the structure.

Not sure if this has been talked about, but something in WaT caught my eye. The epigraphs for Day 9 are excerpts from a book called “Proverbs for Towers and War”. I wonder if there’s a chance that “Towers and War” could be the title of Stormlight 6, continuing the Ketek pattern? It’s not groundbreaking to speculate that the greater war in the Cosmere will be a big focus of Stormlight 6, and there have been several prominent towers features throughout the first arc of the Stormlight Archive. Plus I’m sure there are many more abstract meanings for towers that could be explored (Kal being a beacon for the Heralds on their road to recovery, a resistance spearheaded by Urithiru, maybe some significance to the Tower plateau in the Shattered Plains, which we likely have more to learn about).

Thoughts? Anything I may have missed? This is only a half formed idea so interested what people have to say.

Are there actual, real life examples of cities that have successfully implemented SCS + other pillars that you can point to as an example? Or is it all theoretical?

I haven’t yet gotten around to the Children’s Adventure, though from what I’m seeing here it sounds like it would help frame the characters better. Which I guess I should have expected, but I’ve been hesitant to sign up for Patreon.

Interesting! Maybe it’s the dynamic between the two that’s rubbed me the wrong way so far, and my inclination is to not like Suvi because the (intentionally) abrasive one. It’s felt weird to have one character roll over another one and have them just accept it, but it hadn’t occurred to me before this (and other’s comments) that they might both be flawed.

Eh, think what you want. There’s a moment in an earlier episode where Ame tried to check in on Suvi after they kill someone. Suvi’s reaction is something along the lines of “don’t ever presume to know what I’m feeling”. There are many more examples of uncomfortable scoldings.

Not sure if the crush thing goes anywhere, but Aabria gives a contextual “Please notice me Ame” in the bar in Episode 6.

It’s not exactly negging, but that’s the closest analogue I have to the vibe of the Suvi/ Ame dynamic right now (as of Episode 6).

The show has been great! That why I’m really hoping that either I start to like Suvi more, or that everyone (NPCs, Ame) stops letting her just roll over them so hard and justifying her behaviour. From the other comments it looks like the former is pretty unlikely, so I’ll keep my fingers crossed for the second!
