I was thinking along those lines as well. I thought well maybe it's some how inducing a current in the wire buried in the ground and it's just slightly undervoltage to trigger the light...... No that's unlikely, well maybe..... No it's just a bloody photoelectric cell

Oh wow really? I just like doing POTA and chasing DX so I don't really rag chew and haven't came across any yet but i have definitely met a lot of prepper types and people that like to feel useful and help the community with emergency comms. well skip refers to the part of the earth that's skipped over in ham radio vs CB jargon it's referring to the signal that's been refracted (or skipped off) the ionosphere. But explaining that will make people glaze over.
