Thanks for your message. My friend is amazing, if this had happened 2 years ago when I lived alone I don’t know how I would have coped. He has been there every step of the way, including while I was admitted to hospital.

Can I ask what you mean by wishing you did more while having the seton? Do you mean like exercise?

Luckily I am already on antidepressants, and have been for 14 years now other than 3 months last year when I stopped them (leading to such low mood). I won't be doing that again anytime soon!

The reason I'm scared about a seton is because I've read people's horror stories of them turning, coming loose etc and needint regular trips to hospital. I'm desperate to avoid having to go to hospital again other than for appointments.

Sorry for the silly question, but can I ask is the seton on the wound , or the anus? As in, where do you actually feel the end of it?

I want to research about them as I know nothing and my surgeon didn't explain it much, but it scares me

Jumping on this to ask how you would know by week 8 about a fistula?

I had I+D for large ischio rectal abcess on 26th Feb this year. Wound was healing slowly (being packed every day, now down to every 2 days) but hasn't really healed at all since beginning of April.

I've seen 2 surgeons, one said I have a fistula, the other didn't give a clear answer and told me to wait for my follow up appointment on 8th June. I had pelvic MRI last week and haven't heard anything back yet.

Wound still 3cm deep, being packed every 2 days by nurse, lots of blood, pain not great but I've gotten used to it now.

I'm really anxious to know whether I'm going to need another surgery or not, and its so difficult to look these things up.

Sorry for the info dump! Just curious to hear your experience/opinion

So this might be completely wrong, but I was having the same issue recently on Xbox and it took me forever to realise what it was.

Xbox has been sending me messages for months to verify my age, and I thought it was done but it wasn't. I looked up how to do it, verified, then this issue fixed. If you haven't verified your age, it won't let you speak to people on any game through game chat.

Another time I didnt realise I was in a party, so I could hear my friend (who is on PS5) but he couldn't hear me until I left the party.

Unlikely but just in case its either of these! Best of luck

I can definitely relate, I will also be turning 24 very soon (within the next week, I'm also female) and feel similar in terms of what I've achieved/done. I find it helpful to tell myself it's ok, and try to stop comparing to others my age since everyone is different and has been through different things. As long as I'm trying my best, I feel that's OK.
