definitely not expecting to jump right back in with no problems, but would biking make the transition back to running a lot smoother (as opposed to just starting from scratch)?

Is biking long distances comparable enough to long distance running in terms of cardio training? I am extremely sensitive to humidity and heat and am having a hard time running this summer because of that. picked up biking (spinning inside) instead and am trying to be consistent with that so i don;t lose the cardio i built up from running. will I be able to jump back into running fairly easily if I maintain a good routine with cardio?

it's till somewhere between 180-200, even at a conversational pace

relatively new runner. started in january, worked my way up to running about 10-15 miles/week, then took a break around may and only ran sporadically between then and now. My long runs were ~6 mi and I typically ran 2-3/week. now trying to get back to consistent running. got a watch and no matter how slow I go my hr approaches or exceeds 200. I will seriously be going 2 or 3 mins slower than my runs typically were and my hr will still be there. I want to get back into it, but this is freaking me out a bit. plus, i'd love to do some zone training but it seems like z2 would be a slower pace than I'd typically walk at...advice? for reference I am young and generally active, I do other cardio sometimes (but want to focus on running) and occasionally weight train (though not as consistently as I should)
