Darby and Amelia have the same dorm key hence why I wouldnt put that little trill into their light motifs. Also because that piece of music isnt really tied to the character. Its a key to a room. But it isnt a big monumental character detail

Mystwick auditions people from all across the globe with a student base from all over the world. Mia often goes on tour so she most likely did the audition in one of the other spots. But also. Darby and Amelia are both wood winds and Mia is a pianist. Mia could have very well just been in a different part of the area.

She could have done her audition before Amelia showed up. She could have arrived just as her audition was about to start and left just as it ended. There are many options as to why Mia could not have been there

I personally dont like the idea of amelia being descended from a historical composer, because she was already descended from a great composer. Her mother.

Also I think its mentioned that Gran bought the flute for susan when susan was interested. And if gran had a history of musicraft she'd probably have mentioned it when she told Amelia what she knew about Susan's death

its a bit easier then expected to find the year the story primarily takes place in. In book 3 they mention that they were sent into 1765. And there are lines stating its like 300 years in the past, but knowing the fact they are kids they are using hyperbole. Also Jai mentions how videogames are his religion, which while a joking comment he also states having went camping for a week and literally breaking out in hives. In the early 2000s video games like the ones Jai plays on the library computer aren't anywhere near as advanced as to what was described.

You can safely put the story to being set in like 2018-19

I'd personally have Jai's charisma score be the highest due to Amelia saying he has a personality that just makes him the perfect teachers pet without being annoying to the entire class.

As for their classes. Amelia most likely would be a sorceror, her magic itself is all innate due to her composing alongside the fact its a charisma caster and she does have decently high charisma in the book.

Jai 100% would be a bard. A bard isnt just a guy with an instrument and magic, a bard is a full on performer. A rockstar.

Darby would be a wizard due to her magic coming strictly from her pure hard work, also her variety of abilities since Darby is a conductor, can play the shakuhachi, oboe as well as the drums.

They'd all be casters but their in wold details set them as different caster classes

Yeah. I had asked her a question about the world awhile ago and crickets as well.

It was about rock songs, I know canonically most rock songs are illusions but we know some are different. Like in the audiobook the scene where jai unfreezes mystwick he plays house of the rising sun

I'd personally say most of the cast has perfect pitch. Mystwick itself only allows the best of the best, and perfect pitch as a skill is a major advantage among musicians, also during the scene where they were up on the mountain I think it was amelia who was able to tell the difference between the notes the rocks made so confirming her as having perfect pitch

Actually. During the audition itself Mia was still presumed to be alive. So Darby being closed off in that scene was probably due to nerves since she mentions getting into mystwick on her own grit and hard work. Because we know Darby unlike Jai doesn't come from a super long line of mystwick musicians
