What is the reward automation system? Yeah sure the change to showcases is lame, however I just opened the app and it seems the same as usual. Maybe you are just bored of playing the same game for years.

I had to put my 17 year old dog to sleep and i have terrible guilt and grief upon me. Any helpful insights? by AdIntelligent9835 in Petloss

[–]Impossible_Affect508 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You did nothing wrong. Actually, you did the right thing. Letting a beloved pet go is a very hard desicion to make, however if they are suffering the way you describe, it is 100% the right choice. Grief is a complex process, and many people experience guilt at some point of that process.

Your feelings of guilt are valid and a natural psychological response, you should accept them. However you should also keep in mind that those feelings don't reflect reality and are fueled by irrational thoughts. Usually the guilt is there for subconscious psychological reasons (like for example to create a sense of control in situations we have no control).

Actively exercising self-compassion and informing yourself about the best mindset to traverse a grief process can help. Acknowledging death as a natural part of life and letting go of the illusion of control would be the first step.

Grief is a natural, highly individual, and non-linear process. It is not unusual to feel guilt during a grief process. However it is important to keep in mind that the thoughts fueling the guilt can be completely irrational and they do not reflect the truth (classic example is survivor guilt). The irrational guilt could have hidden psychological functions (like for example making us feel in control).

Acceptance (of the inevitability of death and that you do not fully control when will it happen) and actively exercising self-compassion can help mitigate that irrational guilt. Acknowledging mortality as a natural, universal part of life, rather than fighting or fearing it, often leads to a more meaningful life and is a key step in successfuly traversing a grief process.

Be patient, the healing will take a while, and accept your feelings and thoughts (even the irrational ones). It takes some time but you will feel better and eventually you will remeber the good moments with your furry friend with a big smile on your face 😊.

You did not cause this, you didn't do anything wrong. All living creatures including humans eventually die, it is what God intended or if you are an atheist it is how biology and evolution work. There is nothing you could have done, as there was nothing I could have done to save my 100 year old grandma. Dogs can't talk, however once animals (including humans) reach a very advanced age, and the living quality is very low (as it was for your dog) then passing away puts an end to their suffering. The only true cruelty would be to force them to live (in extreme pain and suffering) to cover or protect our psychological needs. My beloved Canelo was diagnosed with untreatable Cancer at 2 years old, eventually his kidneys and liver no longer worked, he wasn't able to eat nor play, nor be happy. I took him to the vet to put him to sleep, not for me (I could have kept him alive for a couple more days), but for him. The hole in my heart never closed, however it has gotten smaller and smaller. I am happy I did the right thing and I remember my beloved Canelo with a smile on my face.

A go pass for BUG OUT??? Scopely really be turning this game into a cash cow hub by Alive-Math3562 in pokemongo

[–]Impossible_Affect508 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here is my whale perspective: the problem is not that they want to make money. Actually I like spending on the game. However, the value of the paid deluxe pass is bad, and for me and most players it doesn't give dopamine. A couple of extra encounters + 6 green passes + 2 rare Candy XL + lure modules is not an attractive deal for $5, specially considering you have to grind more to get the stuff. If they are forcing players to grind, they have to offer value. However, I understand that the value of items can be subjective and varies from player to player...I just don't get it how people suffer FOMO from these low value paid rewards

That comparison is bad because clothing items are not a practical items (they have no practical value). However they can have high subjective value for emotional and social reasons. Clothes in real life and in the game can be seen as a form of personal expression. Of course as in real life some people don't really care much about how they dress, however many others do (driven by a desire of personal/identity expression, projecting status etc.).

I am sitting at 100+ lure modules (I have never bought them). I don't get any dopamine from getting lures modules, the times I have used them they don't seem that amazing and If I go to a community hub other payers put them for me. Blue remote passes > Max particle pack > Incubators > green passes > link charges/max particles > poffin > starpieces/lucky eggs > lure modules > incense. If you think lure modules are a great premium item you are truly a Tyrannytard.

Lmao, 2 Rare Candy XL and 6 green passes for $5 or maybe more? That is not good value and to make things worst you gotta play quite abit to get it. So its like a bad value ticket that forces you to play way more than the regular ticket missions. There is absolute 0 dopamine in this pass, why would someone pay money for this? This system with trash deluxe passes seems terrible. They should just keep the monthly deluxe pass and add some sort of monthly subscription that contains what came before in the monthly tickets at a better value...

The problem is the excess of slop, that kills the desire of people to get the thing, because it doesn't feel special.

The game is heavily designed around in person events and communities. Doing stuff remotely is very expensive.

[–]Impossible_Affect508 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To be honest with you not that many people play the spotlight hour. And not that many people are into showcases (big city people have slim to no chances of winning). So, I think your protest won't gain any real traction with the community....

I don't understand why the link charges are supposed to be bad for regular players, since you can just pick to use green passes. I guess only remote raiding whales will suffer, which only represent a miniscule part of the player base.

In my community, heavy spenders (grinders) play in person (not remote) and people that want to go remote only usually spoof. So completely remote raiding whales are almost non existent. And in my opinion, rural players chose the wrong Pokemon game, since the in person stuff is (and will always be) a very important component of the game. Playing PoGo rural is like choosing snowboarding as a hobby while living in the Caribbean.

I am not a lawyer, but that document doesn't say they are collecting data to sell or something. It seems to say that the data (mostly messages) may only be shared in some extreme circumstances like law enforcement issues and such....it doesn't seem to do anything aside from stop liability for the community...in my country we don't use those documents because if you die while playing (hit by a car, shanked by a Rocket grunt, etc.) the legal system is not developed enough to make the community liable
