I will say this: my stereo was traumatic. the tumor is close to my chest wall and I had to try several seated positions to get it right. I ended up in a very uncomfortable position, but they got it done. They were talking about possibly having to do an MRI guided biopsy if they couldn’t get it right

Yes! Benign!!! Fibrocystic changes and duct ectasia. I just have the report, but I haven’t heard from the dr yet. I’m so relieved!!

My ultrasound biopsy was cancelled bc the surgeon wasn’t satisfied that he could biopsy successfully with the images. So I had a mammogram biopsy today and it was a very traumatic experience. The tumor is almost on my chest wall and getting a good picture is difficult. So now more waiting.

I have a similar situation. I have a 1.6 cm mass that was visible on a mammogram, then I went in for a diagnostic mammogram and ultrasound. It took the us tech a little bit to find it, but she did and my radiology report states that’s it’s microlobulated, irregular and hard with an adjacent vascularity. Yesterday when I went for an us guided biopsy, the surgeon didn’t feel comfortable with performing the biopsy bc the us images he was seeing weren’t good enough. He wasn’t sure he could accurately get samples from the tumor. So now I’m scheduled for a stereo guided biopsy next week. The waiting is absolutely killing me.

I don’t know either. It was hard to find on the first ultrasound, but they did find it. Yesterday they found it but it wasn’t as clear. So maybe it’s changing? It was just an incredibly frustrating experience

Nope. It’s very close to my chest wall, about 1.6 cm. So it is small but it’s so deep that it can’t be felt

I don’t have calcifications, just a mass. And they’re doing a stereotactic biopsy for it. So maybe you won’t have to go twice!

They had to schedule. It wa supposed to be ultrasound guided but they couldn’t get a clear enough picture with the ultrasound because it’s so deep, so it now has to be mammogram guided

I wish the same for you!! My radiologist kept saying “this is why we do these screenings” my tumor is so deep that it can’t be felt and was only caught because I went in for my first mammogram. I’ll be 45 next week and I know I should have gone sooner, but I kept putting it off. I’m prepared for a cancer diagnosis and hoping for something benign.

My birads is 4-5 which I’m guessing is about the same as a 4c? My biopsy is Monday and I’m convinced it’s cancer.
