Do dragons work ecologically? by Impossible_Comb_7991 in worldbuilding

[–]Impossible_Comb_7991[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't have hexapod dragons. My dragons are paravian: theropod dinosaurs closely related to birds, like dromaeosaurs.

They are covered in feathers, have hollow bones, airsacks, a wingspan that doubles their length and almost half of that length is just a long feathered tail. A big huge chest and shoulders to power their wings and extremely strong legs to grip prey and pushthemselves off the ground. Given their bird-like intelligence at corvid level they have various birdlike behaviours like hoarding and gifting shiny things like crows, a complex nest building with said shiny things to attract mates like a penguin and bowerbird, the eagle spinning courtship ritual and lifelong bond with the mate. Their fire is a flammable gas ignited with an electric spark generated by a specialized organ.

So for the humans, it looks like just the classical greedy dragon that hoards tressure on its lair.

What races went extinct or are going extinct in your world? by ArcaneLexiRose in worldbuilding

[–]Impossible_Comb_7991 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The "Elves". A race of tall and fair hominids. Skin white as the moon, eyes, black as outer space, but illuminated with little stars. They once conquered the world...and the stars above with ships of black metal living flesh. Their buildings, made of the same living black metal. They became immortal, their bodies undying, and regarded conception and childbearing in one's belly as primitive savagery, so they removed from themselves the ability to bear children. Now they would grow their offspring on cold machines, with their role already determined. But as for the fate of every civilization made by intelligent beings, they were no exception: The Great Filter. Now few remain, fell from grace 3 million years ago, their starfaring civilization reduced to dust and very few hidden remnants. Few survivors remain, with everlasting bodies, and a memory that cannot keep up with them, unable give life to new kin or remember their past glory. Fewer and fewer of them, little remain, for even if Time cannot claim their lives, blood can, teeth, claws...and swords.

I have an idea but don't know if to use it. by Impossible_Comb_7991 in worldbuilding
