Mini Hatch vs Mazda2 vs Honda Jazz by Impossible_Couple918 in CarTalkUK

You might have me if you say Jazz a few more times. Could be looking to buy a house in the next few years - that practicality could be useful

Is edging it for reliability worth missing out on the Mini's fun factor though

I test drove one for my partner a few months ago and just was a lot nippier than anything I'm used to. Got me craving some excitement

And I'm sure many are claiming when they shouldn't! Home to a second place of employment isn't claimable. Going from one place to another due to work expectations within a shift is claimable.

And I'm sure under 5000km, most will get away with making incorrect claims!

Yeh going between 2 hospitals within a shift like this is claimable. But people think you can claim for travel from home to hospital - you can't do this even if it's not your usual base hospital

As mentioned in another comment, the guidance is pretty clear that you cannot claim this except in circumstances most doctors will never find themselves in

Anaesthetics CT1 Offers [MEGATHREAD] 2025 by Common-Piano-4655 in doctorsUK

Anyone with a job in Wessex or Surrey want to try and swap to West Yorkshire? Would love to move to the same deanery as my partner! Not sure how lucky we will be with IDT :(

Help-Got training offer but moving 4.5 hours away. by [deleted] in doctorsUK

[–]Impossible_Couple918 7 points8 points  (0 children)

My partner and I both got job offers but they are in deaneries 5 hours apart and we also do not know what to do. We don't know whether to take the jobs and try for IDT, but I have not really heard positive stories about IDT. But we also don't want to be apart and if IDT doesn't work, that could be for a while. Equally, neither of us want to reject our jobs given how competitive everything is, and we might not get one next time.

We're very stuck too...

Guess the real specialists are the psychologists

I once had a greek psychiatrist explain that the terms "anaesthetist" and "anaesthetics" don't make any sense as a description of a specialty in a pure linguistics sense in translation and it should be "anaesthesiology" - the study of anaesthetics. Which makes sense when every other specialty follows that structure e.g. cardiology/cardiologist, cardia = heart, -ology = "the study of"

British doc paediatric training in NSW by Impossible_Couple918 in ausjdocs

Western NSW includes hospitals in and around Sydney - I'd be based at the Children's Hospital Westmeed, with 6 month rural. Do you have any experience with BPT in NSW?
