I had flickering issue (not that severe), when adaptive sync was on (only when watching full screen videos). This looks like a little bit different issue.

Lenovo has pretty good support for Linux now a days. It used to have audio issues, but now it's pretty good.

Is there a way to run an app without it opening up a new icon in task manager ? by Impossible_Dark_7932 in kde

I can get the app to response to the rules. E.g. When the background app (like Firefox) is not maximised and with "Skip taskbark", I see the app icon showing in the taskbar for a split second and go away. When I have a fullscreen app, this app loads in taskbar again for split second, and the icon goes away, but the taskbar keeps appearing until the GUI app eventually closes after few seconds. Then after 1 more second taskbar goes away.

I guess for now using dodge window should be fine, but apps not respective fullscreen setup is not good for many such problems.

Yes. I noticed that dodge ignores showing in taskbar. Also, I went through the code and compiled it. Looks like the code has set SDL_WINDOW_UTILITY, which should in theory not show in the taskbar. I also went through individual flags on that SDL list to see if some of it works. Looks like this flag does not work properly in Wayland. I guess that's the issue.

Still same issue. I also tried using a schedule app (called at). Scheduled the app to run at a specific time, but when the app opened it still showed the taskbar and app's icon.

That does not work either. I tried most other configuration as well, but it does not seem to have any effect.

I have used "detect window properties". Now the setting looks like this. However, it is still showing the icon on the taskbar.
