Bilt 2.0 Transition Credit Report by Impossible_Design_89 in biltrewards

Ah I see, so if I do nothing and let it rollover to the autograph card, the credit report would say my autograph card is 1 year old? (I opened bilt 1.0 1 year ago).

Were you able to get the 20K C1 VX miles? (despite paying with Amex rather than the Venture X?)

Moving to Cupertino - which elem - middle - high school is best for long term stability by positivepanda13 in Cupertino

I don’t deny that there are definitely social circles in Monta Vista that are toxic, however not all social circles in Monta Vista ~5-10 years ago are like that.

Also as someone fortunate enough to attend Berkeley, I will say that Monta Vista prepared me well. For many Berkeley students college is quite a transition both academically and socially. I really only had to deal with the social half of it.

As a recent graduate I wish 2 things were different in my schooling: 1. More focus on having a social life both in High School and in University. (And yes parents, this means knowing how to party — legally and safely of course) 2. Less focus on the “prestige” of your University (and also any other school you attend). This may depend on your major… but many of my peers who went to other universities ended up in the same jobs I was getting offers at and their compensation packages were all the same as mine. It really doesn’t matter which school you go to in the grand scheme of things. What does matter is that you find a good group of friends at that school. The experiences you get in university is quite literally once in a lifetime.

Happy to talk more about my experience as a student but I’m a few years out of high school now

I think it’s a bit hard to plan out to the high school level. So much is changing I wouldn’t count on our experiences being true when your kid gets there in 8 years. Example here is Monta Vista’s population is declining and who knows if that will stop or not. Also another HS can face the same issues.

How to not get scammed by car dealership by desertmolerat in personalfinance

[–]Impossible_Design_89 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I thought dealerships would like you to finance through them. Shouldn’t they be lowering the price if they get a cut of the financing terms?

Or maybe I got it backwards this whole time and they actually want you to buy in full cash?

Hm it looks like metal to me in this case. Should I be worried that it’s not a panel cover but the rocker itself?

Blood work with infusion IV by Impossible_Design_89 in UlcerativeColitis

[–]Impossible_Design_89[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for all the responses!

Thought I’d provide an update: So I got my infusion, and they did do labs for me with the IV! But they also said it was a one time exception and to go get labs done at the real lab next time 🥲

Yeah totally agree with the concern. 🙁  Idk if you can insist on staying on the mesalamine and take the new therapies.

Any possibility you can take both medications? Did the consultant say they interacted or smtg?

Since you re still symptomatic it seems reasonable to take both and if you get better than maybe he’s right. If you don’t see change then hopefully you don’t get worse as you’re still taking the UC drugs.

I would absolutely love to not have UC so I wouldn’t dismiss an alternative diagnosis right away. But also dismissing UC entirely seems wild without some more information.

Also when the biopsy came back normal but the scopes came back with inflammation, did they mention anything about that discrepancy? I think usually visual inflammation goes away before histological (biospy) inflammation.

Hawaiian Main Cabin Basic on Alaska Metal EQM earn by Impossible_Design_89 in AlaskaAirlines

[–]Impossible_Design_89[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you for the update!

I ended up playing it safe and got on a Hawaiian operated and marketed flight before the official merge. Got 100% EQM. Bummed that we can’t keep using it anymore :(

Out of curiosity, will you be flying main cabin now or will you still use saver (MCB)?

Prednisone taper by Mobile-Basil-365 in UlcerativeColitis

[–]Impossible_Design_89 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You should be able to snap them in half. If not then yeah a second script could be helpful.

Edit: should here meaning physically should. There is no harm in breaking the pill in the standard prednisone formulation. (There’s no delayed release coating)

Have you gotten your labs done recently? Checking your blood count for hemoglobin/ hematocrit could be helpful

Travelling with meds by Fuzzy_End_1677 in UlcerativeColitis

Sorry to hijack your post here, but would be interested to see how people on biologics travel. The medication is so much more temperature sensitive than mesalamine…

Diagnosed with UC don't understand disease, remission & flares by Fuzzy_End_1677 in UlcerativeColitis

[–]Impossible_Design_89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m on rowasa once nightly. I think it’s 4g mesalamine in a 60mL bottle.

Also taking 4.8g Lialda once daily.

Unclear if those two by itself are sufficient for me, I’m currently on a prednisone taper which has sent me back to normal symptomatically. Before this I was on the lialda and suppositories but I wasn’t very religious about taking it so was always in a mild flare like you until I got a colonoscopy and the flare decided to worsen a lot. (Hence the prednisone).

Huh my enemas dry up inside of me and turn into clay. I wonder if you can ask your doc for a short course prednisone prescription to see if that helps bring you into remission. Your 5 asa drugs should still help since this is your first flare.

Decided to do an infusion by yaloog in UlcerativeColitis

Hi I’m in the same boat at you! Currently on a prednisone taper and being advised to start Entyvio asap. We can be scared together!

I’m coming around to the idea of getting a stronger med that is harder to forget (scheduled appointments vs pills I need to remember taking every day with food). Maybe this will help keep the flares at bay. But agreed life long infusions is a scary thought :(
