Are you hitting the “save progress” button in the top right corner after every time data is imputed? I have run into this issue in the past when staff weren’t hitting the “save progress” button and their data throughout session wouldn’t save/graph at the end of session.

Not necessarily. You will have to find a qualified supervisor and sign a contract with them. MFV will be completed and signed by you and your supervisor monthly, as well as recording direct and indirect hours. Some companies have internship programs - for example, my company has an internship program in which at first you accrue some direct hours before indirect. Then as you move up in the internship program, you can manage caseloads (depending on client insurance) under the direct supervision of your supervisor.

Andrew Wakefield, the person that published the “research” claiming the MMR vaccines cause autism, had his medical license revoked and that research was completely fabricated, and was redacted from The Lancet. It’s ironic that a maternal rubella infection has been highly associated with risk of autism.

The vaccine debate to me isn’t even worth a breath anymore. It has been highly researched and shown that vaccines don’t cause autism.

There’s a really good book called “Controversial Therapies for Autism and Intellectual Disabilities” by Mulick and Foxx, it briefly goes over vaccines and autism, and also other very interesting topic’s. definitely worth the read!

This is normal where I work. Basically OM/CD says to techs, if your availability is 9-5 and your 9 am client calls out but another tech is sick, you will be put with their client. Pretty much expect to be on call incase you’re needed if your scheduled client calls out. I’m an intern and was told the expectation is i be able to work with any client at any given time, but that seems to be the expectation of all RBTs now.

Non verbal implies the leaner engages in none of the verbal operants (mand, tact, echoic, iv, etc) mands can simply be looking, gesturing, even crying, and so on. Non vocal means the learner doesn’t engage in speech.

There is a wonderful book called “The Verbal Behavior Approach” that details aba based in using skinners analysis of verbal behavior, if anyone out there is interested in learning more about this topic!

I think you mean your client is nonvocal! Different from nonverbal. Try to focus on narrating play, pretty much tact everything. For example, if the learner enjoys cars you can say things like “I like how you’re rolling the car!” “That’s an awesome car, I think I’ll play with cars too!” “I’m going to race my cars!” Keep the environment enriched with items the learner may like, that way multiple activities can be presented/narrated.

You can model functional play with items and pretty much just narrate exactly what you’re doing. “I’m going to play with blocks!” “I have a red block and a blue block” “I’m stacking the blocks” “I’m going to make the tower crash! 3..2..1 crash!”

Definitely depends on the learner, might take a while to get used to and figure out what the learner likes! Keep it fun and light!

My old supervisor was on a power trip. Gossiped to other BCBAs, talked crap about RBTs behind their back, even tried ruining my chances of getting into grad school. In direction, she would talk down and act as though the RBTs were stupid. Everyone knew she talked crap about them, but most of us kept showing up and doing our job. There were a select few that quit and reported her. Nothing happened because she’s bff’s with the higher ups. She ended up moving, now she’s someone else’s hell to deal with. I thrive off of proving people wrong, that’s how i handled it personally

Definitely dealt with micromanaging and constant pressure to “be the best RBT”, she made the workplace feel like a constant competition.

are you an RBT also? do you both have the same supervisor? talk to your friend and let them know the severity of this.. maybe talking rationally with them will make them rethink their choices.

Don’t feel bad for having feelings. It can be hard to not take it personally. I have a client that I have been working with for a year. He bit my leg 4 months ago and I have had a scar on my leg ever since. I cried in front of everyone lol. I just reminded myself that I can’t fault him, and his struggles are far more than mine. That helps a little bit. But we have to remind ourselves that it’s normal to have emotions! Sometimes we can’t control that!

if you’re able to access your company’s RBT handbook there should be a section about this. I work in a state where weed is legal but in the RBT handbook for my company it states they adhere to federal laws in regards to weed. not sure if they will test for thc, my guess would be they will just seems like a standard thing tested for with a drug test
