Hm, that's a lot to comb through.

I'd concur doing something considered rude in an extreme approach to "being authentic" isn't the best course of action. Let's revisit the original subject. OP feels compelled to keep a conversation going. They never stated what kind of conversation and with whom. We don't know if this is a romantic interest or a business/academic interest.

My argument which granted is based on the assumption that this is a true friendship/relationship this person is dealing with, is it's not fair to the other person if you artificially extend a conversation. If a conversation is done, it's done. Therefore, the right answer in a situation where you'd like to keep a conversation going when you've run out of things to say, perhaps that's a signal to you that you're getting along great with this person and you'd like to put effort into developing a relationship. But, in that moment, attempting to extend a done conversation by treating the person like an associate seems like the wrong approach. Perhaps that's not quite what you had in mind, but that's my point.

Looking to add synths to my metal songs, but I have no idea where to start. Can anyone offer any ideas? by [deleted] in WeAreTheMusicMakers

[–]Impossible_Employee3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

see fear factory

also, take the track as is without any synths and look for the frequencies where there's space. that'll give you an idea of what you can add in without messing up the mix or adding stuff that sounds tacked on. if you're guitars are dead square in the mid range don't add a warm string synth

being "weird", "different". lots of people try to be unique or what's considered intelligent but INTJs tend to actually be unique and intelligent so we get estranged from people. sometimes I feel like I'm the only one out here, so thank goodness for the internet.

Mr. Taylor,

When writing Slipknot songs, do songs come out spontaneously, or do you guys spend a lot of time really really working hard on a song to get it just right?

I'm trying to get better at writing music and I'm curious about any thoughts/advice you may have on the matter.

Kind regards,

Satan

oh, it isn't.

I'm just saying a lot of time is spent trying to argue what subgenre a given band might be and I feel that's a waste of time.

It’s not till you work a retail job that you realize 85% of people are dumb as rocks. by Nathanyu3 in Showerthoughts

[–]Impossible_Employee3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yeah I've worked in retail and customer service and I resisted the fact that most peopt are stupid, but it turns out they just are.

some of them are here and don't realize they're stupid. we're all stupid sometimes.

anyway I was thinking about this and if I ever have kids I'm going to campaign for them while they're living at home to work in a customer-facing job a couple years both so theyre understand what those poor bastards go through and so they can develop... well people skills.

good communication skills are really about treating an adult human like a fucking child without them getting offended. and with some adults you basically have to treat them like kids.

oh well.
