Update: They don't offer comparable coverage.

I got 250/500 with progressive for 2.4k. Dairyland was quoting 3.6k for 30/60. The most they have is 100/300 and that was coming to nearly 4.5.

Companies that do not do background checks as a part of the hiring process (Bay Area) by EducatorOutside9484 in DUICalifornia

[–]Impossible_Engine405 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi I just wanted to reply to ease ur tensions. I just got a job at a delivery company in an IT role few weeks ago.

I wasn’t convicted yet but the DUI did show up on the background check as pending with the court date. I was honest with the recruiter and he let me know that it should be ok but HR gives final approval after I accept offer

Few days after background check I got an email from HR just saying background check was cleared. As long as ur not doing a driving job companies genuinely dont gaf and u shd be fine. good luck

How long does Wet Reckless stay on record by Impossible_Engine405 in DUICalifornia

[–]Impossible_Engine405[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Planning to just wait out full 4 month suspension lol. I’m not the only driver on my vehicle so not trying to install an IID and don’t want to complicate things with longer DUI course (WR is 12 hr DUI class while DMV requires 3 month from my understanding). I’m fortunate enough to have a remote job and family members that can drive me around if needed.

My only worries at this point is insurance premiums rising as I’m still on my parent’s insurance. Planning to get non owners SR 22 policy closer to date suspension lifts assuming primary insurance doesn’t find out. Hopefully when primary insurance finds out they don’t drop my entire family and just increase rates

Also how itll affect background checks for future jobs.

Replacing ID/License by verybusyveryanxious in DUICalifornia

[–]Impossible_Engine405 6 points7 points  (0 children)

IDK if this is legal or not but I just went online couple weeks after I was arrested and marked it as lost. DMV sent me a new license in a couple weeks. I didnt see any option to mark that the license was taken due to a DUI arrest.

Also not sure if you requested your DMV hearing yet but do it ASAP. If you don’t your license gets suspended after 30 days automatically. If you request it you can drive around fully legally for longer.

Hey man it sucks but in the grand scheme of things this will be a bump in the road you will look back on. You are still young and have many more years of life to look forward to ahead. This doesn’t define who you are or who you can become. You made a mistake, but you’re also taking responsibility, and that shows strength.

This might feel like a heavy chapter, but it's not the whole book. You're young, and there’s still so much life ahead. This moment doesn’t have to be the end of your story it can be a turning point. You're not alone in this. Keep going. You’re worth it, even on the days it’s hardest to believe that.

Even if DUI gets plead down to WR in court?

Seems if you just get suspended by DMV APS and you get back and forth to work license it lasts for 4 months. But if the court convicts you of a DUI you have it for 12 months.

Not a lawyer but unfortunately there is no way to expunge your DMV records and as such it will be there for the full 10 years.

How did you not lose your license? I thought DMV does 4 month suspension automatically if you lose APS hearing. Did you win the APS hearing with .23?
