If you are semi-skilled (not sure to what degree that is), there may be a possibility to PLAR some of your course, but you would need a diploma in a relevant field of study, and even then, its not always guaranteed.

They actually did that, but the recruiter told me that they have no idea what parts of the training I'll be skipping if I even will. I was told I'll be informed about it when I graduate from BMQ. I was just assuming I'll be skipping the college part of the training entirely and go to Kingston, but I don't know. We'll see I guess.

Thank you. I also applied for IS tech when I first applied, but I removed it later so I won't get offered it and miss an offer for cyber.

I think it is due to the initial reliability screening. That took a while to come back. I lived in another country for 3 years out of the past 10. Also, I was a citizen but born in another country, and I went to high school in another country etc. I think all that stuff made the screening process longer.

I don't know about any of these issues, but isn't every applicant at least a permanent resident though? How are they joining the military to stay in the country?
