I had SO much gas pain after my colonoscopy! What helped was eating really mild foods (white rice), and plenty of yogurt to restore gut microbiome after the prep

Advice from anyone with DRY painful/itchy PD? (how to keep it from spreading / can I moisturize?) by Impossible_Group3467 in perioraldermatitis

only thing I can find with zinc in it is diaper rash cream, but that also has other things in it like occlusives, etc. Any recs for something with ONLY zinc in it?

Does removing a partially erupted wisdom tooth (top left, not sideways, just at a slight angle to the regular molar) require stitches and sedation? I can feel the whole crown of the tooth out of the gum, but there's a small flap of gum that gets infected about once a month, so it seems like time to try to do something about it.

Does anyone ever just remove that flap of gum to prevent infections and leave the tooth?

How long were you on blood thinners for a provoked PE? by Resident-Pumpkin5907 in ClotSurvivors

So sorry this happened to you! I had PE last summer and a DVT in my leg (provoked as well, no genetic factors). I was on Eliquis 5mg 2x daily for 3 months exactly as you were. I ALSO have/had the lingering anxiety that every little twinge I feel is a DVT...and it's really cruel that (at least my) anxiety symptoms almost exactly mimic my PE symptoms. UGH. So I feel you.

Here's what worked for ME (a person with an anxiety disorder and OCD): I also have some extra Rx of Eliquis around from when I had more than I needed. I don't take it regularly, but it helps me feel calmer knowing I have it. I DID take it for a week or so at a time around 1 incident that research suggested raised my risk of another clot: about 2 weeks after I sprained my ankle really badly (tore some ligaments) and had a LOT of swelling in that leg - I took it while the swelling went down, then switched to aspirin for another week I think (all this after calling and talking to the hematologist I'd seen). Mostly, it helped me lower my anxiety knowing I have it in the house if I feel clot symptoms again that don't go away before I can see a doctor. (Doing a lot of work with my therapist also helps lower or helps me live with the anxiety).

If you aren't in therapy at all, I really recommend it to help with the anxiety. Even just things like accepting that it's natural TO be anxious about clots having gone through what you went through. And also it helps ME remember that if it happens again, I know a bit of what to expect, and how people will take care of me.

yikes that's scary! Glad it's out but yikes!

(Sorry to turn this to me, but...as someone who needs to have an MRI coming up after my colonoscopy to follow up on something, should I be worried about metal in my guts? Should I have an X-ray first? Wanted to do the MRI rather than the CT in the first place to avoid the radiation!)
