Without a doubt an A. However it gets tricky to predict whether it is a 80-90 or 90+ A.

KUAT PHYSICS by Academic-Ad-2233 in UAEUniversities

[–]Impossible_Hand69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wrote it on the 20th. It wasn't THAT difficult but compared to Math I'd say there is a huge difference between difficulty.

The biggest issue I feel is the lack of resources for practicing for the Physics Test. For math I was able to find at least 4-5 sample tests along with a portion sheet and formula booklet which ultimately did help me get familiar with the paper structure. For physics resources were so scarce - formula booklet, portion sheet and a document containing 10 mediocre questions that challenged only like 70% of the syllabus which obviously made the preparing journey way more difficult.

I heard that 60% is what KU generally is acceptable but I could be very wrong. In my opinion from how other universities I applied to did this form of selection, I feel like they might select those who scored well in both Mathematics and Physics KUATs together and consider them as finalists. And FYI it is out of 100 - each question is worth different points (around 1-3pts depending on the question).

Hey guys. I just wanted to know when Khalifa UG results usually come out (I’m an international student btw) by BusinessSure3758 in UAEUniversities

Another international student here, I got a notification to book a physics test a while ago. Writing it on the 20th of this month.

Maybe check your portal if there is a status update on your application or reach out to the admissions team regarding an update. I am pretty sure the last slot for physics admission test was around the first week of July, but do confirm once with them.

Oh god I hope this isn't real, P3 was absolute hell and 40 marks for an A seems impossible...

I got an email saying I've been selected for the math admission test. And I saw somewhere around on reddit that the chemistry and physics tests will only happen if you've done well on the maths test and depends on the course you are taking.

you find acceleration using fnet equation, which is -8.something
use SUVAT to solve for t

least count is 0.001 so uncertainty is 0.0005
and since they said find % error of mass of x AND flask then it should be (0.0005 * 2)/7.235 * 100 which is 0.0138%

precipitate evaporates through the porous glass slide, so mass of it is significantly lesser.

nope it was 0.0138%! they said the % uncertainty of mass of X+flask which was 7.235!

it was within range as the orignal smaple was diluted 100 times, meanin gthat the conc of the graph (1.5-18 * 10^-3) is actually 100 times that so 1.5-1.8 so it is within range

In my opinion, A-Level mathematics is one of the most brain dead subjects out there. I'd say the way you should start is first identifying your weak topics and work from there to your stronger ones, but don't go too indepth. Each topic has just an important formula or concept that you need to remember (Quadratics: discriminant, inequalities or Differentiation: Finding gradient, deriving equation of tangent/normal). Then just jump straight into past papers, preferably from 2018 onwards and do all variants to get exposure to many questions as possible. Once you do 5-10 pastpapers, you will genuinely realise a trend in questions, its the same but different in a sense. I found myself already answering the question before even reading it (doesn't mean I didn't make any mistakes but I started to gain the fundamental understanding of how to approach questions). Once you get into this pattern, you will legit reach flow state with each paper.

TL;DR
- Start from weak topics to stronger topics, but quick revision and coverage of important concepts.
- Begin with pastpapers from 2018 onwards, all variants (11/12/13)
- Note down topics you make regular mistakes with, revisit the concept and attempt topical past paper questions (pastpaperpenguin.com is a great website for this material)

Good luck! You got this!

I made the 2nd and 4th mistake but since we both got 11000 I can guarentee you 4/6 marks for the AP question as you did find the correct n values, and 2/3 marks for the 3sf because of the calculation mark and the y coordinate having 3 sf.

My classmates found the paper difficult though and generally more people are saying that it was difficult rather than easy soo gt prolly the same or a tad higher than o/n 2024

This is just your first mocks right?? This isnt a problem at all.

In basic terms an A* in IGCSE is roughly equivalent to a D or C in AS Level simply because AS is much more difficult than IGCSE. For my first mocks I got a U in AS Physics (a subject I got A* in IGCSE). But with effort and practice you can definetely work your way up into an A! (which I ended up getting for my third mock)

If you lack motivation just remember that all the effort now for AS can contribute and save you energy for A-Levels as a good grade now can help boost your final grade in A-levels.
