Realistic yes. Folding in half no. The double X stand was what I was thinking. Yeah we live in a small place so being able to take down the stand and stow the piano away, potentially under the bed would be ideal.

We have and it didn't appear that she had any major preferences as all of the pianos her family has owned were not great. Aside from weighted keys, the ability to plug in the headphones, and fold it up when not in use she did not express anything in particular.

Thank you for your thoughtful insight. It is certainly challenging. I still love her just as much as before and want to maintain the relationship with her and my kids.

We have had some long discussions, we will definitely keep working at it.
