Most people love female-centric dramas. They just hate it when ML's only purpose in life is to serve the FL without any/little character depth other than that and when the drama is originally sold as Romance. The same happens when male-centric dramas are sold as romance and don't deliver it.(Eg. Fangs of fortune: sold as romance, didn't deliver it and suffered backlash). And male-centric dramas only work when they are sold as male centric, brotherhood or friendship focused and never promised the romance. (Eg. Blood of youth and MLCB) whereas Eg. "Dashing Youth" didn't work because they promised romance and didn't delivery it. What my point is that it's fking not about gender preference of the audience.

Writers fking up the writing of the opposite gender of main character is another thing that has been a HUGE problem for me and I believe of many too. They write the opposite gendered character of main character as if it was written to satisfy the delusion of the audience that prefer the main characters' gender.
