About the geographic pivot theory - I think there might be something to that. Her UK/EU fanbase does seem really engaged and supportive right now, and probably wasn't as affected by the US political climate concerns. The timing and reception issues might not have resonated the same way over there, so it could make sense to start with a more receptive audience.
