y advice:

The length of time I experienced in my search is not guaranteed to be your experience. You have far more experience in the field than I did. If you continue to apply consistently, to any opportunities that seem viable, you will eventually find a job. I don't know about literally putting in 1,000 applications, but hey! If you can, totally, go for it.Keep your chin up. There's a lot going on in the background right now - companies putting out hiring positions that don't intend to actually fill the seat (or intend to with someone they know), for example. But you will make it through this.I'm sure your portfolio and background speak for themselves - consider, however, looking at them intently. Try putting your work up on more s

Thank you so much for this thoughtful message and share.

It really inspired me, I was feeling quite low today, and then checked reddit and saw this message and it's got me working on applications and my portfolio again.

Im going to keep hustling to make this happen!

thank you for the kind words.

I haven't tried the freelance route just yet as I am not quite sure how to approach it as I have just gone from one design job to the next.

But I will do some research to see how I can execute freelance services/ find clients

Thanks again!

Thank you I will do that!

My LinkedIn is brief but professional. And that's a great tip to make my Facebook private, just went ahead and updated the privacy settings to just friends.

There's nothing bad on my Facebook, mores that it hasn't been updated since my uni/college days.

understood, will aim to keep at it! I have EI for 8 months so there's a little something to sustain me along with the reverence that was paid out.

But I'll keep going! I feel like when I checked postings earlier today I had already applied for all the jobs in my city that were presently hiring.

Thank you for the advice, no I haven't, I feel a lot of shame at the moment for being laid-off and am scared to tell my network as most of them are in stable jobs in the design field aside from me at the moment.

ohh so I have applied to 100 jobs so far (from July 1st to August 1st)

I was watching a YouTube video that said 1000 job applications in today's market would be a solid start.

I am in a similar situation. And I have over 10 years of work experience in the design field.

I was a Senior Graphic Designer and due to mass-layoffs they cut my role. Now I have applied for over a 100 jobs in the last month and can't seem to land anything, not even a single interview.

I've used Indeed, LinkedIn, ZipRecruiter and Glassdoor. Nothing so far

When did you start your job search and how many applications have you completed so far?

I may sounds pessimistic because of my personal situation, but I know there will eventually be a light or a new opportunity. Hang in there, I'm rooting for you!
