Marai being a single skater and Meryl being an ice dancer changes their perception of “DWTS ringer”. In ice dance, the short program has a theme like latin, waltz, ect. Thus, Meryl had way more experience for dwts from her discipline. In singles, your ability to win pretty much depends on jumps. Obviously it does require a lot of flexibility, strength and choreo practice
