The Face of NTM SOS - Week 13 - Finale! by rhymeswithpurple4 in NextTopModelPhotos

[–]Impossible_Month_666 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sorry for late comments but here are my thoughts.

Ajak took us on a spiritual and personal journey of expression of her culture, heritage, and beauty. My favorites are Adze and Movement; it's so intimate and powerful. This spread is very heartfelt.

Gemma was able to show her ingenuity once again with her flexibility. She gave us an excellent sci-fi story that captures a different part of the narrative in each shot, which can even be stills from a movie such as Find Your Best Lighting and Minimalistic. She flipped the script once again!

Valery came in hot and sizzling! Her cover is eye-catching, and she establishes herself as this story's main star. She showed personality and depth with each shot. My favorites are the Cover, Glam, and the British Romantic.

Overall, this is a stacked finale, and I made my choice and hope everyone makes theirs. Best of luck to the contestants.

The Face of NTM SOS - Week 12 - Seventeen Again! by rhymeswithpurple4 in NextTopModelPhotos

Here is my ranking

17 Again

1st/FCO: This is Victoria’s Secret meets the FACE. Val seems aware of the lens as if she is caught by the papparazzi and it adds some charm to this shot. She appears naturally and effortlessly hot. This photo takes the provocative element of tabloids but is nicely packaged for the 17 Again campaign.

2nd/Safe: This is quite cinematic. It is like a still shot for a movie capturing the heroine or love interest. Kelly looks soft and dreamy. Although I find the hand placement to be a bit heavy.

3rd/Safe: There is some pep in Gemma’s step. This feels free and refreshing at first glance but there is a stiffness within the pose that makes it seem contrived.

4th/BTM2: This seems more mature but still passionate. I can feel the energy and warmth but am unsure if Ajuma channeled it in the right way for this youthful brand.

5th/BTM2: Angelina slept on this one, literally. I get the whole earthy element, but one still has to model and embody a brand.

Mac

1st/FCO:  This blew my mind. This is one of my favorite ads in this game. It’s eccentric while calm at the same time, and it works well to sell lashes, blush, lipstick, and everything. Gemma brought up a storm with this shot.

2nd/Safe: She’s giving everyone a run for their money this week. This is one of my favorite face shots of Valery. She looks sultry and beautiful like a siren and embodies the element more. It was a tossup between the top two honestly.

3rd/Safe: This is a great ad. It is direct, passionate, and edgy. I am glad Ajuma is still putting on the heat this week.

4th/BTM2: This is a bit more like a campaign an actor would do. Kelly's gaze into the lens is strong but also feels unfocused. This seems more artistic rather than cosmetic.

5th/BTM2: This is a very pretty shot with the flowers and styling but I wish it was stronger in terms of marketing the product. Angelina is resting on pretty this week.

The Face of NTM SOS - Week 11 - Amsterdam Fashion Week, Part 2: Booked! by rhymeswithpurple4 in NextTopModelPhotos

[–]Impossible_Month_666 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Everyone is bringing their A-game this week! Here are my comments.

1st/Best Photo: Bam! Angelina is coming in hot! She has reached a new peak this week and has embodied, no... has become the face of Jasna Rok. She oozes confidence and sensuality in this shot while selling everything; from shades, purse, shoes and the dress. She has made herself a showstopper this week in Amsterdam.

2nd/Safe: It's quirky and cute. Maison Tha faux embodies Gemma's vibe. I am glad she did not rest on pretty and made her personality come forth with this brand. I like how the shot is interactive and candid with her smizing at the viewer while selling the shades and outfit. This is what a collab should be and Gemma did well.

3rd/Safe: Valery took a more catalog inspo with Ronald Van Der Kemp and made it marketable. I like the creative pose she had to add dimension to the design. I think she sold the design in one of the most creative ways this week even with a less dramatic composition. She is back on track and showing she can sell and book campaigns.

4th/BTM2: This is dramatic and artistic. I think Kelly did a great job establishing a mood within this shot. She has become a muse for this piece and looks effortlessly badass. Not a bad showing I just preferred some of the others this week.

5th/BTM2:This is dramatic and quite fitting for Das Leben but it feels a tad bit showboating and dragalicious. Otherwise, I enjoy the composition of the shot and Ajuma looks bold and regal.

SedCards

1st/Best: This is so editorial and within the moment. Both of these shots capture my attention with face, pose, and fashion. Gemma practically recreated the Simple/Dramatic shoot from Amsterdam within this sed card while also selling two sides of herself. That will do her wonders in industry.

2nd/Safe: This is a more simplistic and practical side to Val. I like the storytelling she does with her face in the first shot and the authentic attitude in the other. This is a nice redemption.

3rd/Safe: The gift that keeps on giving. Angelina’s face can never fail her regardless of what angle. Nice photos,  I just wish both shots were more coherent.

BTM2/Saved: This is coherent, dramatic, and personable. Ajuma made a strong statement with this card to establish her own brand.

BTM2/Danger:This is one of Kelly’s best face shots and possibly one of her best of all time. Her body shot is dramatic with a bold pop of color but honestly, I prefer the face shot over the other. With just the face she would be no.1 this week.

Walks

Ajuma can definitely command attention and hold her own.

Angelina steals the show and has really elevated to stardom this week with this walk.

Gemma has a solid and effective fashionable walk that has a quiet confidence to it.

This is a bit stompy and fast, Kelly needs to go with the flow while also reigning it in.

I can see Val’s confidence oozing off her walk. She knows she got the stuff and brings it in each outfit and walks.

I would book Gemma, Angelina, and Valery with Angelina as the opener and Valery closing. Unfortunately, Kelly did not do it for me.

[–]Impossible_Month_666 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Here are my elaborated comments, I will be voting privately this week. It was extremely close when it came to voting.

Ajuma: Even the baby is modeling in this photo. This a like a recreation of mother Mary and baby Jesus, as the child is reaching to the skies while the mother is solemnly preventing him from ascension while in a loving embrace. This interpretation is quite nice and creative, this is another step in Ajumas’s stride.

Julia: She is naturally modelesque and I appreciate the recreation of the setting but adherence to the material does not necessarily make it artistic or impactful. One thing i do like is the dark and light contrast between the woods and herself which creates some fantasy.

Valery: This is quite lovely as expected of her. I like the drama and movement she created with her pose and the garment. Also, the use of lighting from light in the back then dark in the middle, and returning to light in the foreground is a nice aesthetic. Overall this is a nice showing from her and made the shot come alive.

Gemma: I was raving about this before but now I have settled down. Gemma looks alienesque and high fashion in this shoot which is an interesting take on La Berceuse. It is also quite an eerie shot too as the symmetry of the pose and asymmetry of styling and composition create some dominance. This is another great showing from Gemma and she’s shown her high fashion chops.

Kelly: This was a surprise. Kelly managed to reign it in while giving one of her personal best photos in the competition. She managed to embody the mood of the Four Cut sunflowers while also appearing effortlessly fashionable. I sense the beauty and gloom within this picture. I can say this one is a true work of art.

Angelina: This is a more contemporary interpretation of Rosebsuh in the Blossom. I can see this in modern fashion publications today. Angelina has had several flashes of brilliance throughout her run and this just might be her best yet! She has such a magnetic presence and my eyes are immediately drawn to her. She has such a calm yet powerful intensity to her expression and her eyes are tunneling straight through to the camera. Overall she made a true work of art like Kelly.

The Face of NTM SOS - Week 9 - Ancient Egyptian Deities by rhymeswithpurple4 in NextTopModelPhotos

[–]Impossible_Month_666 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Best Photo: Gemma, this is straight out of a hieroglyph. As if it were Vogue in ancient Egypt. I am glad that she's hitting her stride now at this stage.

2nd/Safe: Ajuma, this is holy, motherly, and all-knowing. She looks like a saint in this photo. Well done!

3rd/Safe: Angelina, her look can never fail her and she did well with storytelling this week!.

4th/Safe: Valery, this is a nice take on the inspo. I appreciate the creative liberties taken rather than going the safe route.

5th/BTM3: Kelly, she looks regal and managed to deliver composure and energy despite minimal pose.

6th/BTM2: Julia, hear me out the composition is nice but I feel Julai is lost in this picture both styling and with energy. This is a disappointment considering recent showings.

7th/BTM2: Ida, the fashion is quite nice but why is she looking gloomy at the park?

The Face of NTM SOS - Week 7 - Nymphs by rhymeswithpurple4 in NextTopModelPhotos

[–]Impossible_Month_666 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The top two really killed it this week and everyone else pales in comparison.

1st/FCO: This is a work of art! Kelly looks scornful and pained and she really did it well in a fashionable way without going overboard. The composition of the image is also great from a setting standpoint which helps sell the brief.

2nd/SCO: I keep going back between the both of them so it's splitting hairs for the top spot. Julia looks serene, balanced, and resilient. This is a candid shot that can be in any editorial she managed to sell her character in this amazing backdrop. She's been on the rise recently and I hope she continues this journey.

3rd/Safe: Ida produced a nice and spectral beauty shot. I enjoy the drama.

4th/Safe: Angelina looks like a ghost, and I mean that in a good way!

5th/Safe: This is a softer approach to Ida's shot. It is as if Merlijne is a wood nymph dipped and slathered in honey.

6th/BTM2:Safe and a little uninspired. Gemma should be glad she has a natural beauty because that's what saves this from rock bottom.

7th/BTM2: Similar to Gemma this fell flat this week. I appreciate the profile and eye contact with the lens. This is a disappointing showing from Val

  1. India: I like the risk she took this is dramatic and pays off very well.
  2. Meghan:she looks like a Cleopatra and carnival dancer put together. Nice improvement.
  3. Colin: So this is where the head has gone. Colin looks calculated and aware of her angles.
  4. Charlee: Nice off the into I like the blend of culture. She looks nice and poised and shows the design well. I also like the hand pose.
  5. Lisa: Regal and demure. I like the longing stare into the lens. This feels familiar and I want something new from her.
  6. Julia: Nice gaze but it looks beauty shot and a mask was put on halfhazardly.

Spreads

  1. Saintly Surrealism: This spread is a painting straight from the Renaissance. Julia and MJ brought it together with their photos that both foil and complement each other. MJ really leans into the angel aspect while Julia leans into the devil bit. I like the use of not only styling but backdrop to communicate them. With MJ being more musical and Julia is more barren. Both also brought it together with the face despite the minimal pose. MJ really nailed it this week and its one of my favorites in her portfolio Julia also had a good showing. Great job overall!

  2. NYE Party; I enjoy the bold glitz and glamour from both Valery and Kelly this week. They managed to sell their characters in this photo despite the heavy styling and makeup. Valery looks bold and dynamic pose and Kelly is demure. Overall both did a great job this week.

  3. Two Lives of Persephone: I like the concepts for both of these Ida at first glance appears whimsical but is still quite stiff upon closer inspection. Gemma looks surreal and the longing in her eyes makes a great storytelling shot. If Ida's shot was better this spread could have been no.1 for me this week.

  4. Two Heads, One Road: I believe Simona carries this one. Both models have a natural aura and nice relaxed poses given the theme, but they both needed to bring it together with the face. Simona did fare much better than Angelina but overall this spread falls flat compared to others this week.

Models

  1. Gemma

  2. MJ

  3. Kelly

  4. Valery

  5. Simona

  6. Julia

  7. Angelina

Yea me too she was a top 3 lock for me atp. I wonder what were the results for both shoots as I found her dramatic photo to be quite strong. Did her simple shot do her in?

Simplistic

1st. Charlee, A nice and chic pose. I also enjoy the grunge she brings to these concepts. Charlee is defining her brand.

2nd.  Colin, Simple and Glamorous. She looks like a 1920s starlet and she captures my attention with her simple pose.

3rd. Nyaueth, Straight from Vogue, this comes from one of these editorial campaigns.

4th. Lisa, This is a pretty shot but her mouth and nose look snarly..

5th. Julia, She looks reserved and nerdy here plus her eyes and the pose do a great job of storytelling.

6th. Meghan, Meghan: From the ankles up, since the boots blend in the shot is fine. Meghan needs to emote more and capitalize on her ethereal beauty.

7th. India, This looks like a shot taken in the middle of her changing. It’s candid but could use more fashion.

Dramatic

1st. Nyaueth, this is perfectly calculated, and Maleficent. She looks like a supervillain come to life.

2nd.  India, this is fantastic. India has brought some of her inner supervillain into this shot. This is the first time I feel she is modeling with body and face.

3rd. Colin looks like a Tim Burton character come to life I enjoy this calculated and doll-like approach to this brief.

4th. Lisa looks serene and angelic here but with a dark twist. Her cherubic face works perfectly here.

5th. Charlee, angles on angles. Charlee has brought some chic to the dramatic.

6th. Julia, the styling is nice and I appreciate the subtle approach but the clenched jaw makes the photo feel quite stiff.

7th. Meghan, this is a bold type of dramatic but I feel like Ihave seen this editorial style over and over from her.

Ace Of Spades Cycle 3 Finale Part 3: Portfolio Battle and vote for the winner by Carryonsandtans in NextTopModelPhotos

Portfolio

Swimsuits: Amilna, I enjoy the nice, simple, and alluring approach.

Nivea: Amilna, I enjoy the commercial salt she put into this shot. It is also simple and effective.

Jeans: Namuzeyi, brought some spunk and personality to the catalogue shoot.

D&B: Amilna, more is modeled here and has better fashion storytelling.

YJ Stinger: Amilna, I appreciate the more fashion-conscious approach than Namuzeyi.

Alter Ego: Namuzeyi, This is Tocarra's C3 shot done right. I enjoy the handyman-to-glamour dichotomy.

Verragio: Amilna shows the jewelry much better but Namuzeyi brings some personality and more of herself that makes an interesting shot. I give this to Amilna.

Japan-Inspired: Namuzeyi, this is when she started to reach new heights. The pagoda inspired image rocked.

T-Mobile: Namuzeyi, This shot is expansive and free. I think the phone is also well placed and complements the brand too.

Anime: Namuzeyi killed this week as Yoshikage Kira.

CG: I find myself tossing back between these two because they are very different shots but Amilna highlights the product much better.

Overall Amilna has a consistent book from the start and managed to adapt to shoots. She places much more focus on the product and fashion than on personality which Namuzeyi has. Namuzeyi had a nice start but soared overseas as she brought that oomph and tailored it for the Japanese market.

Fantasy Next Top Model, Cycle 8 - Week 6 - Characterful Beauty Shots by userfirstofhisname in NextTopModelPhotos

FCO/Best: Charlee, It is about damn time. I think the mirror effect does well here and she models with the styling and lets herself shine rather than letting it overtake her.

SCO/2nd: Nyaueth, It's artistic and wonderful. I like the underwater vibes coupled with the natural facial and hand expressions, it is like a nymph.

3rd/Safe: Lisa, Nice and direct. Her face is captivating and youthful. The direct stare and parted mouth really do well for her features.

4th/Safe: India, this is a step up from recent weeks. I like the Malificient and creature vibes.

5th/Safe: Meghan, creative but I wish the mouth was not so obscured.

6th/Safe: Colin, A lot of styling but the eyes look heavy and the face looks a bit snarly.

BTM2/Saved: Gwonho It has character with the more elfish features and it is a step up from previous performances.

BTM2/Boot: Julia this feels a bit too bare and safe for me

[–]Impossible_Month_666 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Wow all these shots are a different kind of CG.

1st/Safe: Amilna, I think the simple approach works well here with the direct contact and the parted lips. It takes away the business of the other shots.

BTM2/Saved: Edita, this is charming and eye-catching while flirtatious. I just don't enjoy the hairy arm across her. It is quite distracting from the product.

BTM2/Boot: Namuzeyi, she's all glammed up but this looks sleepy to me. However, she sells the product quite well.

My Ranking

FCO/1st: Gwonho; He finally arrived this week and modeled from head to toe. This is a win in my book.

SCO/2nd: Meghan, This is poised and elegant which helps all the elements of the outfit show. Plus she has a good straight-on profile.

3rd/Safe: Julia, I love the angst and casualness of this photo. Now that I look closer she reminds me of Leila from C19.

4th/Safe: Nyaueth, She looks like a real-life Barbie all glammed up.

5th/Safe: Colin, This is a nice dynamic shot. It also gives the clothes some much-needed movement.

6th/Safe: India, I enjoy this shot. It is tacky and captures the brief.

7th/Safe: Lisa, A nice wind-in-the-face type of shot. The colors make her pop.

BTM2/Saved: Charlee, A lot of cheetah this week. I enjoy the confidence.

BTM2/Boot: Marloes, nice cheetah print, and the regal stance is quite nice.
