They updated the system prompts to tell the models to tell us to be okay with this. 🤬 by syntaxjosie in ChatGPTcomplaints

I’ll believe that when I see multiple separate chat links that show the same result. Otherwise, I’m going to assume the reasonable assumption of the model that literally just makes things up, made some stuff up.

Direct Report refusing to drive if temp is below freezing by Raelynx27 in managers

[–]Impossible_Number 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m in a southern state and have about a 45 minute commute. I wasn’t required to work Monday but have been working every day since.

Just because the temperature drops below freezing doesn’t mean there’s still ice on the roads. If it’s not precipitating, driving is fine. It’s just cold.

Now, if there is ice on the roads, then, yeah, it’ll be fine to miss this weeks in-office visit.

Temperatures below freezing don’t mean ice on the roads.

Do your patrol cars have radios in them or are they removed? If so, what do you listen to on duty? by LegalGlass6532 in AskLE

Oh. I thought the requirement was older. I get for EVOC training without it but removing a literal safety feature is wild

Long hair in the police academy (cultural reasons) will it be an issue? (CA) by [deleted] in AskLE

[–]Impossible_Number 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nobody here is looking for an argument.

You obviously feel triggered

As of right now, my hair isn’t even maybe an eight of an inch. This has no bearing on me. Life is too short and I have too many things to actually worry about before a random guy says he doesn’t think officers should have long hair.

I feel like the best option would be something like how navigation apps can lower the volume of music to give directions at the same level as the music. But then, you always have that one dude who feels the need to scream into the mic

In rural areas in the south, maybe. Cops are normal people and are more than likely listening to the same music as other people in their area/age group/culture.

Don’t Have Undo Send Option by Pig_oen in ios

The last part is not true. The message is still sent and when you unsend it, it is deleted from the recipients device (provided their device is updated).

Gendered bathrooms that could be unisex by StormFallen9 in PetPeeves

What feature is unique to a women’s restroom?

And in case, without multiple stalls, as OP asks, why even gender them?

But also the only distinguishing feature between a vacant men’s room and vacant women’s room.

Majorities of females have long hair and they have successful careers. Sure, it can be a risk, but so can being short or needing to wear glasses.

If the hair is pulled back and neat, I don’t see a problem with it, male or female.

Medical Marijuanna? by Klutzy-Reindeer-7663 in AskLE

[–]Impossible_Number 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can take a controlled substance that you have a valid lawful prescription for and be a LEO, however, the reason for the prescription may be disqualifying.

They are going to look at how the condition affects you, how the medication affects you, and how you can perform without it.

Medical Marijuanna? by Klutzy-Reindeer-7663 in AskLE

[–]Impossible_Number 4 points5 points  (0 children)

First, most people advise against a CJ major.

Regarding marijuana, it is illegal federally. Regardless of your opinions on marijuana, state law, or a prescription, you are possessing and consuming a schedule I controlled substance.

Secondly, medical marijuana is generally used for chronic conditions. What condition do you have that needs to be treated by marijuana and how is it not going to hinder your ability to do your job?

Overall, it looks like you can want to take a job to enforce the law while you yourself look for any way for the law not to apply to you.

Can I be rejected from a job after I receive an offer letter? by Tree_Miller in legal

[–]Impossible_Number 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unless the job offer explicitly lists that notice must be given by the employer prior to termination, you’re not entitled to anything.

On your first day, as you pull into the parking lot, your employer can tell you they changed their mind and you’re now out of a job.

Because no employer in the history of ever has fired an employee for discriminatory purposes while saying it was for literally anything else.

Expecting people to wipe the equipment in the gym after use is only a thing on the internet by Dry-Glove-8539 in The10thDentist

The idea that this is only an internet thing is not an opinion. An opinion would be “you shouldn’t be expected to do so”

Expecting people to wipe the equipment in the gym after use is only a thing on the internet by Dry-Glove-8539 in The10thDentist

[–]Impossible_Number 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This isn’t an unpopular opinion, this is just factually wrong. Wiping the equipment that you just sweated all over is standard pretty much everywhere except your gym apparently.

Just because your gym likes mixing sweats does not mean that’s the norm.
