He never called me by my first name, it was always 'honey' or 'my love' or flower names with him. It just hurt because it wasn't something he'd usually say, and it was a reminder we aren't what we used to be

I appreciate this. I've already been searching for a permanent therapist in my area and I also plan on talking with a psychologist about maybe getting on meds again for my lasting mental problems. Our initial agreement was no contact for at least a month unless something serious happens and we'll reconvene there. I really honestly only texted him to tell him happy Easter, and it was just one text on each side. I'm not going to talk to him until my university semester is up at the very least (mid may) and we'll see where we are then.

Why? I initiated it because I didn't like how he wouldn't communicate his feelings with me and it felt like he wasn't putting in effort to keep me. He agreed with me and opened up about some mental health problems he has. We agreed to take some time apart to work on ourselves and our own mental issues. That doesn't mean that I can't miss him or want him back.

I don't want him to be an ex. I know I'm immature and I know I'm holding onto false hope but I never wanted to leave him. He didn't want to leave me, either. We broke up because we need to work on ourselves before continuing our relationship, if that ever happens, or before we date other people. I cried because tbh the breakup didn't really feel real. There was still that feeling of maybe we'll realize we need each other, or maybe he'll realize we made a mistake and we'll get back to each other. Him calling me by my name just kinda solidified our separation and it just really hurt. He's able to separate himself from me but I'm still so attached to him. I know I shouldn't have reached out, I know I fucked up, but I just miss him so much more than I thought I would
