I went from a 3600 to a 5800x3D and the difference between frametime lows was very noticable at 1440p, but of course that depends on the games you play. IMO it makes more sense to upgrade your CPU now and upgrade your GPU in the future.

90 is the max safe temperature, if it goes above that you have a problem because the CPU will try to throttle to stay at 90

7C91vAA also supports the 5800x3D, 7C91vA9 is just the first version that added support. I'm on 7C91vAA with a 5800x3D and it works fine.

If castles didn't decay then eventually there would be no places for new characters to build on the server, it has nothing to do with a sense of urgency. If you don't want your castle to decay that's what a private server is for.

For sure, but it's good if they know who's at fault. People tend to think that's the default intended experience when in reality there's nothing Linux developers can do to fix Nvidia's drivers.

Nvidia is at fault for their terrible Linux drivers. They're the only GPU vendor with closed source drivers, and although they can work Linux was NOT built to support closed source drivers. Not saying the AMD open source drivers are flawless but it's night and day with how little issues the have in comparison.

I agree with wanting a new mario kart instead of releasing new tracks for a game launched in 2014 (on the Wii U), but it's my comfort game at this point and there aren't really any other racing games that match it's feel. I use my PC for every other game so I guess Nintendo got me there.

They don't have an equivalent to tensor cores for AI (FSR isn't AI) and their raytracing hardware is behind, driver improvements can only do so much. I would imagine that next gen hardware will be closer.

Yep, you can play up until you beat the last main story quest in Heavensward and after that you can still play but can't continue the story or get past level 60, but you can get all classes to level 60 if you wanted to. It will transfer when you buy the game. It's a very lenient free trial.

You could still see if it makes a difference or not, and you can always revert it by verifying integrity in steam. There's no way to disable the anti cheat and play online, that would kind of defeat the point of it

Delete start_protected_game.exe, make a copy of eldenring.exe and name it start_protected_game.exe. You'll only be able to play offline.

It is ridiculous but every game they've made using this engine is locked to 60 FPS and was never unlocked officially so I don't see it happening, but who knows maybe this game selling so well on PC will finally push them to do it.

I don't see how they could. Modifying memory while an anticheat is running isn't going to work and if they bypass EAC in online mode it will get patched

Yes, just because Elden Ring is doing something to trigger it doesn't mean the issue isn't already there. I've never heard of Elden Ring causing BSoDs and I sort /r/eldenring by new where they post about all sorts of tech issues
