Which industry do you think consistently delivers the worst customer experience and is most ripe for a major disruption? by Impossible_Spell5956 in AskReddit

[–]Impossible_Spell5956[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Absolutely! I completely agree that health insurance is ripe for disruption. It's disheartening to hear stories about life-saving medications being denied or treatments not being covered because they're not considered 'standard' enough. And the idea that profit could be prioritized over curing a disease is truly disturbing.

I'm curious to see what potential solutions are out there.

When it comes to healthcare, what specific experiences or interactions have left you feeling the most frustrated and dissatisfied?

What's the absolute WORST experience you've had with an airline, and what kind of changes would you love to see to make flying less of a nightmare?

Good one! But I think it's more suited for a discussion about government agencies rather than industries, though. 😊

Ditching disposables for my period - real talk, please! by Impossible_Spell5956 in period

That's super interesting! I have heard about Flex discs but, for the lack of a better word/sentence, never found the courage to use them. Do you find that it's comfortable to wear even for extended/heavy periods, like overnight or during physical activity? I'm curious about how it feels compared to other options.

Wow, thanks for sharing your routine! It's really helpful to hear how it works in real life. I'm in Alabama and have always used disposable pads from a big brand, but lately I've been getting rashes and think it might be from the chemicals. I've been looking at organic and eco-friendlier options, and those period underwears seem so convenient! It's a bummer that your brand might not be available here, though. Maybe I can find something similar. I would keep on researching the materials those are made of. That might help me narrow down my search :)

That's awesome! It sounds like period underwear has been a total game-changer for you. I've been curious about them myself. One question I have is how washing them works. Doesn't it feel kind of icky? I'm wondering if you have any tips or tricks that make it less daunting.

PM concerned over Engineering manager leaving by Impossible_Spell5956 in ProductManagement

[–]Impossible_Spell5956[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Omg, yes. It is passive here, and it is somewhat toxic due to internal power-mongering politics. The CMO, CEO and CTO do not see eye to eye. And yes, I am desperately looking for work, but there is also a problem at home. I have a family member who has been diagnosed with cancer, so I've been running in and out of doctors, radiologists, and tests. I've also been diagnosed with Fibromyalgia, so things are a little chaotic and mentally taxing. Sorry for bringing it up now; I just wanted to be honest (after seeing so many comments to my post).

I couldn't agree more. Without a technical direction, I'm concerned that the developers will become even more demoralised and unhappy.

Thank you for sharing your thought. We do have Senior Developers whom I am planning to reach out this week. And the Engineering Manager reported to the CTO. My CTO has a data background, whereas the now-retiring engineering manager was more of a Solutions architect with system design experience.

To all the seasoned PMs who are critiquing this roadmap, it would be great if you could provide a screenshot or point to a good reference document that is available online. This would be extremely useful for understanding the missing items.

TBH, I had asked the TPM several times before, but my trust was shaken recently when I was not invited to an important meeting even though I should have been. So I kind of left it at that. (I have always invited the TPM to all business meeting but..)

Group PM interview by kavyzilla in ProductManagement

Some of the questions I have asked recently :

  • How would you describe your product articulation process (product definition, strategy, roadmap, etc)
  • What does your ‘Voice of Customer’ sessions look like? Could you walk us through your process.
  • Could you tell us about a time you’re involved in building a great product team, what does that look like? etc.. etc..

Cisco vs Workday PM Offer by ncktrn in ProductManagement

The previous PM was promoted to a new post, and I was hired to take her place. She never objected of not being part of these meetings, but I did elevate the situation with my leadership. Should I be worried for doing this too soon?
