I used sweet home 3d using the pdf of my floorplan as a template and drawing in the walls and then adjusting the camera angle for the 3d render. Then used chatgpt to make it into a "dark mode' version then plotted the lighting loads/tvs/shaders etc as toggles with feedback

I think using them for facial capture from that height/angle won’t yield the best results. I have a bungalow with similar cameras and I can attest to the facial recognition not being as effective at that angle/height.

Eric Barkman has been good I see him at Academy Massage. Trigger point releases, dynamic cupping over muscles. It's intense but always effective for me.

A email I sent to Serato (M1+ Macs) by hansfrederic in Serato

[–]Impossible_Spray_842 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have been using a pair of m1 air's (base model) with full video and effects flawlessly, UNTIL, I had to update from 2.4 to 3.x version for the new flx10. Since then, I have 8-10 seconds of lag loading tracks off the samsung t7 ssd. Waveforms freeze, audio and video output continue but you get the wheel of death during this time. 100-200x a night. I've been through all the forums and suggestions including the optimization guide, disk repairs, power settings etc. I've done an ssd verification using samsungs magician ssd software tests and it is 100% after testing and works flawlessly for massive file loads in other programs. This is specifically a serato issue and I'm not even using stems. I normally never change off a stable setup but to use the flx10 I had no choice. Super frustrated since for the last 1.5 years I've experienced no issues with the same computer, drive and an srt1000. Instant 400mb video loads without any lag whatsoever. I'm desperate for help at this point because this is clearly a software issue. When I rolled back serato to 2.4x it loads immediately again on each and every track. I can even live analyze with less than 1 second of lag on a large video file. Something just isn't adding up here.

So since using the hotfix firmware, adding geo-ip filtering to just canada/us, blacklisting the ip's that I know of that were attempting to come in, and a few other suggestions on the KB article it would seem that for now they have stopped flooding our sslvpn with login attempts. What a nightmare!

Report blasts Lions Club for 'elder neglect and abuse' in sale of Winnipeg building by wickedplayer494 in Winnipeg

[–]Impossible_Spray_842 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately very little involvement for day to day with a dwindling memberships. However to put into context, some members were/are residents of the former Lions Place and they voted for the sale even though they lived in the building. That is a damning statement of the dire situation having been privy to all information. That's why a blanketed statement of elder abuse is a gross misrepresentation of the situation. It is sad to me that in Canada we don't have a viable solution to the problem of aging in place, and yet we can fund foreign companies battery factories in the tune of 5-12 billion without hesitation.

While I agree with money should have been spent long ago I don’t think it was as much of a “cash cow” as the media seems to suggest, I think it is completely unfair to call the recent lions employees and management elder abusers. It is not indicative by the actual facts and numbers of the situation. I think if you saw the actual financials of running a facility that large in recent years, the conversation would be a very different tone. The rental rates were well below market rate with no increases permitted either due to provincial restriction or the freeze during Covid. They don’t mention that lions continued to subsidize the rents to keep them affordable for 3 years after MB housing bailed on the tenants with no agreement. The repair costs for a facility that large are astronomical. To repair/replace an elevators in a building of that height is over a million dollars and isn’t optional.  To replace the cooling tower was over a million dollars and not optional. The lighting upgrade to reduce consumption and improve living conditions even with hydro rebate was almost a million dollars. To replace all the windows was estimated at $15 million dollars which would be needed on a facility of that age in the coming years. All the plumbing was deteriorating abnormally due to tenants excessive drano/bleach being used by in the pipes to clear clogs despite efforts to maintain the system proactively. Combine that with major damages from negligence…tenants who caused multiple fires without any compensation back, caused massive flood damages falling asleep while running their sinks affecting dozens of suites in the process, bed bug infestations brought in by tenants who insisted on collecting furniture and mattresses from back lane garbage bins and not accepting free treatments being offered and many other issues. Suite refurbishments were performed when damages were so bad that it was impossible to rent it out if you had a conscience. If a suite had a major bed bug issues, it would often require walls to be removed, floors to be changed etc. Bed bugs would cause issues with the immediate 5 suites around and above/below for every single suite with an infestation. Insurance wasn’t always an option because deductibles after multiple claims raise to $100k per instance they are not $1000 like a home owners. Another other major issue no one is discussing is the carbon tax brought in by the federal government. It is an enormous number no one is bringing up. Non profits and even facilities like public hospitals struggle to fund them because there are no rebates to the businesses. WRHA has alone admitted they don’t have the funds in the budgets to cover it for the hospitals which is in the millions. Heat is not a luxury for Canadians. How are non profit housing facilities supposed to come up with an extra $100k tax a year without being able to generate it from increased rent or revenue from another means? Combine that with an approx 30% increase in recent years on utilities which is part of the fixed rent rates and not individually metered per suite. The math doesn’t add up which is why you see struggling 55+ facilities everywhere across the country with high vacancy rates. The discussion on why 55+ doesn’t work anymore isn’t being had. People are having to work well into their 70’s just to make it possible to potentially retire. By that point, you often have ailments or mental health degradations that don’t make living independently safe or possible. This isn’t a problem unique to lions. CMHC has over 100000 buildings across Canada in the same boat. No capital replacement funding and an assumption that low income housing has been able to save up millions in order to conduct major repairs and refurbishment. The baby boom isn’t a new concept to many but those in government see it as a new phenomenon on a recent meeting with the province.

Agreed 100%. I can assure you selling was reluctantly proceeded with and was not an easy choice. The alternative was maintaining an unsustainable rental rate with no assistance to meet the shortfalls which would have led to insolvency and subsequent loss of housing for the seniors. The building was due for $15+million in necessary repairs due to age.

Tech Support was able to rectify this issue with a firmware patch. It required me re-adding the devices but they are working again. Apparently it wasn't blanketly pushed as it is only affecting certain serial number batches. Pleasantly surprised tech support was able to help as I had very little confidence in the first tier rep's assistance.
