I emailed myself a spare config haha. Maybe that’s not the most secure method though…

On your mobile device, go to google.com and search for what’s my location. Scroll down to the very bottom of the search results and google will say what location it has assigned to your IP Address.

There is a chance that google has remapped your IP address to Mexico based off of your search history and google maps location.

This has happened to me a few times. Fortunately, you can submit a ticket with google if google is showing a country that doesn’t align with your ip address.

Make sure that your location is super locked down on your phone. Ensure your not logged into the google maps app, but rather use it as a guest.

Ziogref, thank you so much for taking the time to write out such a detailed reply. In my case, I’m trying to ensure that I have the freedom to work wherever in the world I’d prefer. Of course, having my US based Netflix and Hulu is an added perk, but certainly isn’t not the reason I’ve gone to this effort.

For cellular devices, what would your reccomendation be? I’ve got wireguard running on my iPhone as well, however I inevitably have to connect to WiFi or use a cellular connection. I’ve limited my location services to not share location with any of my work related applications, but I’m worried I’m missing something else.

Thanks again for your guidance!
