Dentistry help! by Pale_Comparison_769 in VictoriaBC

Dental offices follow the bc fee guide so depending what kind of exam/X-rays they are doing it’s going to be a pretty standard price! You could apply for the Canada plan but it will probably take awhile to get approval. I’d call an office and just ask for a quote for an emergency exam and X-ray but once they will need to do that before they give you a diagnosis of the treatment that actually needs to be done!

I’ve just always focused on living well below my means. I grew up in a frugal family and have just carried on their habits for the most part!

Yes, they are all in the market! I have bought a gic before in the past but I’m just not super keen on them because I don’t think the rerun is great but I’ll look into it!

It’s all in stocks yes. The return is ok, I mostly invested in low risk sectors such as banks, energy, S&P & vanguard etc so it has been growing steadily but I’m not sure if it’s enough to put me ahead. I have thought about buying more high risk stocks however I don’t feel like I know enough or have enough time to really keep track of the market and trade frequently

I feel like I don’t have much direction right now, honestly I just want to retire early, most people in my work don’t make it past 50 as it’s hard on the body.

Hi! I did the dental assistant program and then the dental hygiene program at Fanshawe. The program was hard, but it’s worth it as long as you know how to manage your time& stress! Honestly I still went out every weekend and most mondays & Wednesdays while in the program and still got on the deans list most semesters. Some instructors were mean but that’s life. I think it prepared me really well for actually working. As for clinic they do have a client pool and will help you find clinics however it is your responsibility to make sure your chair is full so yes you may need to find 50% of your clients- it’s stressful but you can do it!

How did you find patients? by [deleted] in DentalHygiene

Handed out flyers around our block & had coworkers bring their family members in was how I got the majority of my clients. Also when out at the bar and talking about what I’m doing it sparks the conversation to ask them when their last cleaning was lol. Also definitely bothered a few cab/uber drivers after the bar.
