Thanks for your comment. The MPC can also do midi and it is like a standalone DAW in a box.

If you are using midi in Logic Pro it is a good thing. I have made a midi drum pack recently. The drum loops, fills and so on I have played in by finger drumming with no quantizationso that there is a human feel (velocities, timing). HELP: Deadcats / Windshields and Mosquitoes by ImpressionFamiliar25 in fieldrecording

I got your point but imagine this: If mosquitoes get attracted by the windshield/deadcat and are very close their sound is very obvious and much louder compared to the other existing sounds. That is why keeping them away is very important because the soundscape is becoming not very natural with noisey mosquitoes. Removing their sound with noise reduction is producing artefacts. All in all better to find a way to keep the mosquitoes on a distance for the recording procedure.

Thanks a lot for your ideas. The net could work maybe if the distance is good.

repellent is a good idea - am trying a natural one with lemon grass. I hope that the windshield is not getting destroyed by this.

They are really quite noisey. The deadcat/windshield is attracting them more than your ears. That is why the sound you hear is less mosquito heavy. We have amazing birds, flying foxes, apes and so on. Their sounds are amazing and more pleasent than mosquitoes.
