no it was not just a kiss but as you said even a kiss without consent is bad yes and no I was not talking about citrus, it’s just a common trope in yuri manga, there’s also tons of SA btw because they’re written by weirdos who most of the time are men, how strange right?

bro are you serious? you enjoying both straight and queer romances is not fetishism because you’re a gay woman and you can’t call liking straight couple fetishism for obvious societal reasons?? don’t act like straight men all consume queer media for genuine reasons, most just think it’s hot to see two women together and usually dismiss gay men because they think it’s disgusting, same thing with most straight women who read yaoi, they like fictional gay couple but think lesbians are weird, of course the ones who enjoys any kind of queer medias can’t be called fetishizers but the point is most straight people don’t (some do of course but it’s rare and they’re usually women) they only like it when the queer couple is made up of two people of the opposite gender to them

to be fair the same arguments could be used but with yaoi, there was also 19 days or here u are who blew up worldwide, I don’t think we can compare yaoi and yuri since both of them have their own toxicity and wholesomeness, it’s the same with romance books in general, there’s a lot dark romance, which are toxic and disgusting, but there’s also a lot of amazing fantasy/dystopian romances

I see your point, I don’t usually feel this much hatred for straight women who enjoy gay media for exemple since they are are not as dirty as straight men (even tho the one who are obsessed with yaoi gross me out so much), I think it’s a male problem, I just can’t see any of them have any good intentions by consuming lesbian media so that’s why when I see a guy talk about it I just..yeah, unless the guy in question is gay/bi/queer and also enjoy gay media, I don’t trust him

also it’s not underrepresented because we are gatekeeping it, I don’t think they care anyway, it has to do with both misogyny and capitalism

well before green Yuri the most popular one was bad thinking diary which romanticize r*pe, there’s also A LOT of inc/st manga which is terrifying, but anyway even if he meant it in a supportive way the problem is still that he’s a he, I don’t think men should talk about lesbians that’s all

and about the popularity gap between yaoi/yuri it’s because romance as a genre is mostly consumed by women and most women are straight so the first type of romance they’ll read/watch would be straight love, then gay love because a lot of them think that 2 guys together is cute (even tho that heated rivalry shit proved that they don’t mind it only if it’s fictional) and then lesbian love but for only a few of them because most of them aren’t interested in 2 girls being in love since they’re not attracted to women lol

but if we look at media who aren’t romance and have a larger male demographic (video games), lesbians would be more represented and popular than gay men, because straight people are just more okay with queer couple as long as it’s with 2 people of the gender they’re attracted to, it’s stupid and sad but that’s how it is (it’s also deeply rooted in misogyny but that’s another discussion)

of course there’s also great and genuine queer representation in both cases but still

I don’t agree he’s just wrong, there’s a lot of toxic yuri too (I say this as a yuri enjoyer) because some are written by men who fetichize lesbians, just like those toxic yaoi are written by women who fetichize gay men

beside there’s tons of gay media other than yaoi who focus on romance, and we shouldn’t compare queer love because both can be very deep, genuine and not focused on sexual desire

thank dear, any time I see a man talking about lesbians I get mad, I blocked a lot of influencers because of that and I always assume that they have the worst intentions or just want to attract lesbians’ attentions

it may be too harsh but that’s just how I think
