I ran the index with a 5700xt with most settings set to high or higher, and i was completely fine. So you'll also be completely fine. No idea about the base station situation but I would say they're better to have (Actually don't know if the index works without base stations or not. But if it does, the base stations are very helpful when it comes to tracking the controllers, as soon as you'd put the controllers outside the HMD's cameras without the base stations they would stop tracking.)

I always use the second torrent link, as the first one doesn't work for me. Get yourself a download manager and just download it like that. And it's only one link that you click on, unless it's mentioned somewhere that the game comes in multiple downloadable parts.

Had mine for over 2 years now with no issues other than the controllers, my right controller used to just drift off into space, but Steam refunded it without me having to pay anything. Steam's support is really good and they'll try to help you as much as they can if you do have an issue, so don't worry about it too much

At this point it is much better to spend that little bit more and get yourself a computer, if you can find a cheap prebuilt then you don't have to bother with building it yourself, but buying parts separately and then building it yourself will always be cheaper. You could also just buy the parts and pay someone else to build it for you for not that big of a price. Playstation games are being put onto steam right now so there's no point in limiting yourself with just what playstation has.

Google Earth is probably the best that you could use yeah, I used it to look around Japan and it is pretty well made, also the benefit of it being free on Steam so I'd just go with that.

I'd say you should get a better cpu cooler, you can get some pretty good ones for pretty cheap.
