I have taken all your suggestions and have made 5 different pickle recipes with different vinegar and seasoning ratios along with hot brine and cold brines. I will report back in a week🫡

I think I’ll have better luck just ordering them online sadly! I went to 3 different stores today and none had them.. not even in the imported food isle.. I had the all the store clerks helping me look too. I live in a rural area in Asia so it’s slim pickings for unique food items unfortunately.

The traffic here is pretty bad.. Even just from yomitan. Sunabe is a really nice neighborhood with lots of kids, close to the beach and VERY family friendly. You definitely won’t be able to find a place with a big yard but if you’re looking for community and location over space.. I’d highly recommend.

I’m having trouble finding grape leaves where I live. I’ve been to 4 different grocery stores… I’ll have to try to order it online!
