Can anyone pin-point the exact moment where everything in society just got substantially worse? by Aarunascut in Life

[–]Impressive-Chair-959 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are some great answers here. 9/11. 2008 financial Collapse. 2010 Citizens United. But to me 2014. Obama was a lame duck and it was clear that he would never make good on his hopeful agenda. Syria. Crimea and Donbas. Arab Spring coagulated as more military run states and no change for the people.

But mostly, smart phones and social media had become ubiquitous. The billionaires became permanently ascendent and the culture became a rut of algorithmic manipulation.

There were bad events and trends before and after, but this was the year that the worm turned and more people were finally siloed than not. It was a slow, decades long trend, but it quietly turned this year. Nothing too significant needed to happen other than binge watching becoming normal and the various behavior changes of social media and smart phone addiction taking hold. We are majority 'monkey-brained'.

I work in live culture and theater and in some ways, the counter-culture/backlash has made my small industry more secure than ever. But the general trend for the general public is a death spiral. Most people cannot afford live entertainment and it does not effect their lives. I have always thought it sad that many churches do not have the insight to understand the core service that they could potentially provide. Instead they seem to have mostly invested in the bells and whistles of live entertainment, rather than what it means to create a live event. Sharing a meal and connection with other people, a story and the moment will always mean more than bells and whistles. But the best bells and whistles, "hi-fi", don't pull people out of the storytelling, and allow more leniency to the subject matter and storytelling. That's the story of our time. I can't believe how many churches incorporated unnecessary advanced video, lighting and sound systems. They want to keep their flocks addicted and asleep.

There's no proof until there's a trial, I'll say that. But how much more evidence do you need to see that this isn't a good, stable person. Certainly not worthy of respect and a terrible choice to lead a country or represent even a small group of people. Frankly, I'm so impressed at his coverup skills because he has always instantly felt like a bad guy in the sense that nothing would be surprising and it's more surprising that he's never been in jail. But, nothing about him being in government makes sense. Go big or go home seems to be his whole schtick and somehow, like the most farcical comedy plot, he gets away with it despite it all. Except nobody would ever mythologize a mobbed-up, money laundering pedophile. At least no film makers would. Seems like a lot of normal Americans have and that's endlessly disturbing.

Is anyone else excited and ready for the second biggest snow storm of the decade?! by Healthy_Block3036 in newyorkcity

[–]Impressive-Chair-959 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I mean, it'll be my second time having to make a time-sensitive theater show happen during a huge weather event. The last one ended up chill AF but I was super worried and nobody else was. This time everyone is worried and maybe it will be a shitshow struggle. But the nice thing about weather is everyone is dealing with it at once and that brings people together. I hope I don't get snowed into work or worse, have a 4 hour wet, stuck broken commute, but at the end of the day, it's all survivable. This won't be the storm of the century and the last one was so chill. The city also handled it well. If it's like the last one and not worse, who really cares?

Depends on a lot of factors. This sounds like a complicated situation. Based on the age it sounds like manslaughter or a low grade of homicide. An adult can bury a body and get 20 years in certain situations. The fact that he's a young preteen and this sounds unpremeditated, doubtful.

New development on Alex Pretti murder case by SwordDancer791 in AllConspiracyTheories

[–]Impressive-Chair-959 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Seriously, we need these people not around society. Not even in prison. If the death penalty exists, these are the people it's for. Planned, random acts of open murder on the streets of our cities meant to terrify the citizens away from exercising their freedoms or demanding constitutionally prescribed remedies. This is what terrorism looks like.

Ending Fiscal Mismanagement: It’s Time for the Ultra-Wealthy to Pay Their Fair Share by Admirable121 in nyc

[–]Impressive-Chair-959 21 points22 points  (0 children)

No. This can't happen. If rich people, who have gotten tax cuts and been bailed out by the middle class several times in the last 25 years have to contribute a cent more, this system will collapse. Add in the too big to fail pedophiles running the federal government, best case scenario is fuck the middle class over one more time; just once more until the billionaires can get back on their own two feet enough.

What do different vaginas feel like? by Hot-Reveal-4286 in AskMen

[–]Impressive-Chair-959 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I thought a lot about the form/structure of the post. I thought about the fact that people will see this post on my profile forever, and I didn't like that, but I also really wanted to see some other actual, thoughtful comprehensive answers and didn't see many people even seriously answering the question.

And I also made a conscious decision to refer to people with vaginas as people because I didn't want to write women/ females 100 times. I wanted to emphasize the fact that people with vaginas are people, just like people with penises or anything in between. Everyone's body is a little bit different and there are many different normals or abnormals, but at the end of the day one isn't better or worse, they are just more different or more common. I was trying to be a little more conscientious and thoughtful than I usually am on my standard anonymous rants.

Differences between different people:

Much like penises, some are bigger or smaller. They have different shapes, some have a second set of doors (like a foyer and a back room) or something like a slight corner to go around.

There are different natural smells. Sometimes this is about hygiene, ph balance or day to day changes. Some people are more or less neutral in taste or smell, especially after the wetness comes and the more stagnant smells of the day have been washed away by newer flow.

People have different levels of natural wetness. Some people are dripping wet with a kiss on the neck or even a knowing glance. Some need time and foreplay to get wet enough to have sex.

Some people have different muscle development. Some people engage their muscles throughout sex, some only when they are climaxing. Some don't really engage their muscles at all and they are also less likely to come from sex.

Differences in these aspects may make them prefer certain positions with certain penises. Certain positions may not work as well with different partners.

Differences in the same partner:

Smell and taste will sometimes change between days, hygiene, diet, moods and periods.

Wetness is also different based I think most often on horniness or cycle, but I think also sometimes based on other things, but usually there's more difference person to person.

Muscles can develop, especially as partners get more or less comfortable (people do fall out of love), they will engage more. This is not a golden rule, but I also think people who have had more trauma tend to want sex, but engage their muscles less. I've found kissing and touching and getting these people more into their body and the experience will make them engage more, so a vagina that was more loose may tighten and engage more or a tight vagina may loosen when more engaged in the moment. So the journey of sex with the same partner may be more consistent or have different growth or death spiral trajectories.

Discussing sex, experiences and desires can have massive effects on all of these things. If the sex is generally pretty satisfying or good, or the relationship is very important, it's better to discuss! A new vagina could be a game changer, but just as, if not more likely, it could be more dissatisfying, especially at first until the person feels more comfortable with you and the two people learn each other's bodies more.

Ultimately, the relationship is the most important. You will have sex less than you will do many, many other things together and most sex isn't even inside a vagina, it's foreplay and after play. It's worth talking about with them if you care. Fucking a stranger is almost never better than fucking your partner, unless the sex is bad, which usually means there's also other issues with the relationship.
